Feeling F-I-N-E

- Outside Wallace's House, 7:37, it's still raining -

"Hey... Hey! Wallace! Dude! Hey! Wake up!" Scott banged on the door, eventually giving up. "Y/N, bust the door down."

"Wait, what? No, that's illegal." You refused, shaking your head.

"And I don't wanna fix my door, thank you." Wallace's voice was heard behind the both of you.

"Hi Wallace." You greeted.

"Wyenn, Scott. I brought you both a double double and a sour cream glazed. Enjoy." Wallace handed the two of you some Tim Horton's.

"Thanks, dude." You said as you took a sip of your coffee. "Where've you been, by the way?"

"I was just walking to Mobile to the bus stop. What are you two doing here so early? It's not even nine." Wallace answered.

"Scott woke up early and then woke me up to get him home, so here we are." You explained, before yawning.

"I thought I was wide awake, but I wasn't." Scott added, before yawning as well. "And I forgot you had my key."

"Sorry for not reminding you of that, man. I forgot, too." You apologized.

"Aww, poor widdle babies." Wallace teased, unlocking the door and letting the both of you inside.

"Actually, I have to go wake up the others and get them to their houses. So, catch up with you later." You said as you made video wings and took off into the sky.

- Later that morning -

After playing taxi to a bunch of sleepy people, you were finally back at Wallace's home. He saved your doughnut and coffee, even reheated them so they'd still be warm.

While you were busy sketching things in your notepad, just as you finished up the last of your coffee, you heard Scott's now melancholic tone.

"You know what sucks?" He asked, to nobody in particular.

"What?" You and Wallace humored him.

"Everything!" Scott complained.

"You're not wrong. But, like, in a general sense." You pointed out.

"Psh. Listen to this, okay? Just listen." Wallace paused as the sounds of bacon sizzling on the pan were heard. "You hear that? That's market bacon hitting pan. Today, a child is born unto us, and his name will be Bacon."

"And his baptism will be one of grease and deliciousness." You played into the metaphor, giggling.

"Smell it? Do you smell that? Smell it!" Wallace exclaimed, fanning the air.

"I smell it!" Scott exclaimed, covering his ears in annoyance.

"Everything does not suck." Wallace told him, as he continued to cook.

"What are you worrying about? You got a girlfriend, two of her exes are cool with us, and four of the other five remaining aren't a concern for now. Live in the moment, Scott." You advised.

"I know, it's just... it's just Envy. And everything!" Scott cried out covering his face in frustration.

"It's the past, guy. It's over, forget about it." Wallace reassured.

"But she's back! She's here!" Scott groaned.

"Scott, I'm not gonna pretend to be an expert or anything, but the past is history. Sure, it's what shapes us into who we are, but... the point is that we can't dwell on it. We can't live in the past, we have to move forward." You explained.

"Listen to Wyenn, Scott. Her being back doesn't make it not over." Wallace agreed.

"Exactly. Plus, don't worry for the past or future. Keep your eyes on the now." You added. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."

"That... was deep. Where did you hear that?" Wallace asked, surprised.

"From some tortoise. And that's not just an analogy for an old guy that walks slow." You joked.

"I think... I... get... it... sort of..." Scott said, trailing off as he wondered what to do.

"Good." Wallace replied.

"You do what you need to do to forget about Envy. Take action, do what feels right." You advised, patting his shoulder.

"But what about the fact she-" Scott was interrupted.

"I thought you got it!" Wallace exclaimed, raising his spatula as if he were threatening to hit Scott with it.

"I... yeah! I did! I do. I get it. Got it." Scott nodded.

"Try to not worry, everything will go smoothly." You reassured, even if what you said wasn't all that true.

- Saturday, 1:00pm -

Yep, it was still raining. You and the crew were now at Honest Ed's. You've been here before. "It's fun to shop at Honest Ed's" was the saying around these parts. Located at 581 Bloor Street West. Open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

"Okay, so... Have either of you been here?" Envy asked as she, along with Todd and Lynette, stood across you, Scott, Ramona, Wallace, Stephen, and Julie.

"No. Well, once, sort of, but I almost died." Scott replied. Aside from him, no one else spoke up to confirm whether or not they'd been here.

"I'm just gonna go with a 'no'." Todd sighed.

"Right, so, okay... The plan is... you guys are going to go there..." Envy began to explain. "You have to, um, survive, and get to the end, and, you know, kill each other, or whatever. Do I think you can do that for me?"

"Not exactly rehearsed for this, did we?" You asked, holding a box of bagels.

"Yeah, not really. And- Oh my god, you actually brought bagels." Envy was surprised when she saw the box.

"You weren't joking when you offered?" Ramona questioned, also surprised.

"No? I'm not letting you guys watch a fight on an empty stomach." You replied.

"You're too much of a saint for your own good, Rowe." Julie sighed.

"What's life without a little charity, eh? So, anyways, are we gonna play or are we gonna stand around, waiting for the rain to stop?" You asked, before looking up at the sky, and then at the store.

"Oh, right. And Todd: no psychic powers, sugar." Envy instructed.

"Fair enough." Todd agreed.

"So what's Scott's handicap?" Wallace asked.

"That Y/N over here can't be called on to do Scott's dirty work." Envy answered.

"Fair enough." You and Scott said in unison.

"Okay, what's the challenge here? I mean, it's just a store." Stephen asked, confused on what exactly was the big deal behind Honest Ed's.

"You've never been inside Honest Ed's?" Julie questioned.

"No. Why?" Stephen replied.

"Stephen, you know how, when a baby is first born, it just cries at the sheer horror of being alive?" Julie explained. "Basically, that."

"How I hate her." Wallace muttered.

"Wallace, I love you so bad." Ramona whispered.

"Hey, guy? Buddy? What's my strategy? How do I win?" Scott asked, trying to get a better picture on how he should play this game.

"Well, it's been made pretty clear I can't intervene, so..." You thought for a moment, before shrugging.

"Just... I don't know, either. Play to your strengths. He's not supposed to use his powers, so that should help, right?" Wallace said, unsure himself.

"I say speed is key. The faster you go, the sooner you're out." You suggested. "Or try to tire Todd out, that could work."

"Yeah, he can't not use them for long, he's a spaz." Ramona added.

"If I peed my pants, would you guys pretend I just got wet from the rain?" Scott asked.

"Dude, come on..." You groaned, facepalming. "Alright, focus. Lock on. There's a goal, a finish line. Get to it, and screw over your opponent in the process, just like in Mario Kart."

"Mario Kart... yeah. Yeah, I can do this." Scott nodded, a little less nervous now.

"Go get 'em, tiger." You patted his shoulder before he and Todd prepared to run into the store.

"On you marks... get set..." Envy counted down, getting ready to let the boys start running. "...shake it!"

The two immediately sprinted towards the store, not giving each other the chance to take the lead. And then, it was a matter of time to see who would come back and who wouldn't.

"Wait... ah, crap!" You suddenly realized. "I'm gonna run out of spray pain next week if I don't buy more. Well, since I'm here."

"Wait, Y/N." Stephen stopped you, grabbing your arm. "Julie told me about what happens in there, are you sure you can handle that?"

"Uh... what do you mean? I've been inside there multiple times." You replied, and after saying that, everyone seemed to be wide-eyed. Even Lynette was surprised, and that probably said a lot.

"You've... been inside Honest Ed's more than once?" Julie asked, dumbfounded.

"Yeah, what's the big deal? I mean, there's nothing too crazy, is there?" You asked.

Envy gasped, leaving you even more confused. "You don't have a..."

"A what?" You questioned.

"Nothing. Just go." Envy sighed, shooing you away.

"Okay... uh... bye, then." You shrugged, walking towards the store.

And you entered. You looked around. You entered just in time to hear Scott yell, "I'm going blind! Help me! WAAAAAUGH!" Followed by the sound of someone falling down a set of stairs.

"Can't intervene... well, too bad." You shrugged, and began your shopping trip.

You knew what you wanted, you knew where it was, and you had the cash. You were going to be out in a jiffy, you thought. You really didn't understand what the big deal was about this place, since Stephen sounded pretty worried for you.

It was just a bargain store. Nothing was too insane. You found a good-sized backpack and thought, "huh, I could use a new one," and the price of $5.99 was a good bargain, so why not?

You grabbed it, kept walking, and found a 12-set of 400ml graffiti spray paint cans, priced at a whopping $4.99. That's a deal right there. But realistically, you only needed black, white, and blue.

So, by using the right words, you managed to buy four cans of those three different colours for that same price, along with the backpack. On the way to the exit, you heard Todd... begging for help?

"Ugh... F-fading fast... I thought I would... I tried my hardest to please you! F-FATHERRR!" Todd yelled, sounding like he was in agony.

"Uhh... are you alright?" You asked, now concerned for the guy despite you and him not being in the best terms.

"G-go away!" Todd exclaimed, running off with a few pieces of household items. He really didn't want you to see him in his moment of weakness.

While you weren't allowed to intervene, there was nothing that prevented you from checking the fight out closer, so that's what you did. After a minute, Todd had assembled a rifle out of the earlier mentioned household items. And you had to admit, that was impressive.

"I'll get you, Pilgrim. I'll get you-" Todd, with an exhausted breath and seemingly on the verge of passing out, aimed his gun at Scott. "...even if it's with my dying breath!"

"N-no! It can't end like this!" Scott screamed, covering his face with the hockey gloves he'd equipped himself with. Speaking of equipment, he also had a bike helmet and wraparound sunglasses.

Todd was about to fire, but the rifle clattered on the ground, and so did he. Todd clutched his head and curled into a ball, cold sweat running down his face. He was muttering things under his breath.

You got the overwhelming feeling to run, and you felt others should, as well. Once Todd's powers began to show, you didn't waste any more time.

With quick thinking, you used video to break off just enough of the floor to absorb some concrete.

With that, you shielded yourself and others with concrete shields, just in time, because Todd's psychic powers were beginning to go haywire. Everything was floating, and the store's walls were cracking.

And then, Honest Ed's imploded with a loud bang, leaving a giant mess behind. Luckily, you managed to cover everyone with enough concrete to protect them. The store was now in ruins.

Lowering your concrete cocoon, you looked at the disaster. "Is everyone alright?!" You asked, letting everyone out of their chambers, as well.

You received several "yes" and "yeah, I'm good" answers, which was a good sign. And of with them, you also got a bunch of cheering from the shoppers. You became the center of attention really fast, and for good reason.

"Who wins? Do I win? I totally win, right?" Scott asked, coming out of his cocoon.

"I don't think anyone won." You said, looking at the disaster. "Also, Todd, what the hell?!"

"Sorry... my fault. My bad." Todd apologized, his powers wearing off, as he got up.

"Wow... Y/N, you're just... wow." Ramona said, amazed by what you managed to do.

"That's our favorite superhero." Wallace laughed before getting serious and turning to Envy. "Can't keep your psychic in check, eh? Any more bright ideas?"

"Shut up, I'm thinking." Envy said, a little upset, as she rubbed her temples.

"Wyenn, how did you survive being inside Honest Ed's? And actually come back with what you'd said you'd buy?" Stephen asked, still confused.

"More importantly... did you or did you not have your mind warped to remember your most guilt-inducing fears?" Julie questioned.

"My most what?" You asked. "No, I didn't have any."

"Oh my god, we were right..." Envy said, a realization hitting her.

"Y/N doesn't have an ounce of trauma!" Everyone except you shouted in unison.

A hero with no damage in their past? No scarring moments, no angsty backstories, no dark secrets, no haunting memories? Well, that's new.
