Scott's Still Getting It Together

Following the little convo with yourself, well, the evil you, you got back to thinking on how to get you and Roxie on good terms. All you knew is, she and Ramona may or may not've had a relationship in college. But what exactly happened?

"Y/N, help me!" Scott's voice called out from inside the house.

"Fight for yourself, Pilgrim!" Roxie yelled, and you knew that was your cue.

Flying up the wall using digital angel wings, you made it up to the balcony and found Scott running from Roxie. She tried to go for a strike, you got in the way, and blocked the blade with your own digital sword.

"God damn it! This is just another example of Scott Pilgrim being a lazy ass who doesn't fight his own battles!" Roxie snapped.

"You both have swords!" Scott exclaimed from the bathroom.

"Excuses!" Roxie barked.

"I don't hit girls!" Scott yelled.

"Pssh! You think that gives you the moral high ground?" Roxie asked, still trying to push her blade against yours.

"It really doesn't dude! Equal rights, equal fights!" You argued, pushing back.

"You're just a pussy, Pilgrim!" Roxie shouted, losing the sword clash struggle as you pushed her closer and closer to the balcony. And before you realized the wooden fence broke. "You're just a puuussssy!"

"Sorry, I didn't noootiiiice!" You apologized as you two fell, though you made sure to swap places with Roxie so you would take the full force of the impact.

You could survive higher falls and heal faster anyway, so your main worry was for Roxie to either not get hurt or receive as minor injuries as possible. And it worked, because she fell on top of you with no real injury.

"Man, my landlord is gonna have a cow. Are you guys okay?" Ramona asked as she looked over the both of you from the balcony.

"I'm good!" You said as you raised a thumbs up. "Roxie, you okay?"

"Ugh, yeah." Roxie replied, getting off you. "Now let me at him, Ramona!"

"I won't let you." You shook your head, getting back up and resummoning your digital blade. "Unless you're scared to."

"Oh, so now you wanna fight me, huh? You were content on being the sidekick, now you wanna take the lead, and the credit?" Roxie asked.

"I don't want to take credit for what Scott's been doing. I'm simply helping him." You stated, your sword ready.

"Fine, I'll cut you both down! You'll regret it!" Roxie declared, charging at you, and the two of you engaged in a sword fight.

"Scott, if there's anything you want to say to Ramona, say it now!" You called out, still dueling Roxie.

"Am I just a pussy, Ramona?" Scott inquired.

"Well... you could be less of one, I guess." Ramona answered.

Scott steeled himself, and strode over to Ramona with full confidence, grabbing her shoulders. "Ramona..." He started.

"Scott?" Ramona repeated, her expression a confused one.

"I know you just play mysterious and aloof to avoid getting hurt. I know you have reasons for not answering my questions. And I don't care about any of that stuff." Scott continued.

"You... don't?" Ramona questioned.

"Ramona, I'm in love with you." Scott admitted. "...and I know I can make this relationship work."

"Oh, Scott..." Ramona smiled, blushing.

Something began to glow in Scott's chest, the handle of a sword. Scott grabbed the handle, and pulled out a weapon.

- Scott has earned The Power of Love. -

He dropped from the balcony, got in a fighting stance. "Now I'm glad I took longsword proficiency in fifth grade! Y/N, tag out!" Scott announced.

"Got it!" You nodded, flapping your digital wings and landing on the balcony next to Ramona. "Your turn."

"Let's do this!" Scott declared.

"Come on, little man. Let's dance." Roxie beckoned, getting into a fighting stance of her own.

If there was a sword version of a cowboy standoff, this was it. The two waited for the other to make a move, their swords held tightly in their hands. Then, they ran at each other, jumped, and slashed.

Both landed on one knee, now on the opposite side of the other, their backs facing one another. Then, Roxie slumped, grabbing her stomach with her free hand, before falling over.

"You dick." Roxie spat, blood trailing from the corner of her mouth.

"How's it going back there? I think I just got a cut on my face..." Scott smirked, and he did indeed have a small cut on his right cheek.

"You got me, Pilgirm... but you'll never defeat the twins." Roxie chuckled, starting to split in two.

"Wait... shit! She's splitting in two! That wasn't the plan at all!" You thought.

And it was not. You wanted to get in good terms with all of Ramona's exes. Now, you had to act fast! Granted, you had to act fast a lot of times, but you had to hurry. Someone's splitting in half, damn it!

- Heal Roxie

Why are you even doubting?! Just go! Once she splits in two, there's nothing you can do! Hey that rhymed- Who cares?! Hurry!

- Kill Roxie

Glory and gore, and both will be yours to bask in! Scott doesn't get all the cool kills, you're part of the action. Go on, kill her.

"Roxie, hold on!" You exclaimed as you flied as fast as possible toward the half-ninja.

You landed before her, and she was just about to split. You then held out your hands, and blue pixels began to emerge, swirling around your hands and toward Roxie. She was being mended, and you could see her skin repairing itself.

"Hold still, it's gonna be alright." You reassured, continuing the process.

"What... what are you...?" Roxie was speechless, and her tone was more of awe than hate or rage.

"I'm trying to save you." You replied, and the healing process was finished. "There. You should be alright."

Roxie looked in disbelief, although you couldn't pinpoint exactly why. Was it because you helped? The sensation of being healed? The fact she wasn't dead? Probably a mix of the three.

"Y/N, why did you do that?" Ramona asked, looking a little shocked herself.

"Scott won. It's done then, right?" You asked, and Ramona nodded. "Then we don't need to fight anymore."

"You... saved me." Roxie murmured, before standing up and sheathing her blade. "What do you want from me?"

"A moment of your time. I didn't want you to become a quarter ninja, heh." You chuckled, rubbing the back of your neck at how corny the joke was.

"What?" Roxie's confusion grew, and she raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, I'm just gonna talk." You sighed. "I want to help you and the rest of the exes reform. Get over the past and move on with your lives."

"Help us?" Roxie asked. "We have no reason to accept your help."

"No reason, huh? So you don't care that your relationship with Ramona has been a source of pain and anger for years? How the past has come back to haunt you in the form of her and Scott?" You questioned, and she was silent.

"Here we go again." Ramona muttered, amused, knowing what would come next.

"Roxie, you can't keep going down this road. If you keep this up, it'll tear you apart. And I know I can help. If you just hear me out." You explained. "So please, tell me what happened."

"...you're different." Roxie finally said.

"Huh?" You blinked.

"You're different from Scott. You actually give a damn, and aren't afraid of doing something for someone else. Even if they don't deserve it. You're a lot more brave and confident than Pilgrim, too. Not that that's a hard thing to do." Roxie continued, looking directly at you.

"Uh, thanks." You weren't expecting that out of the blue. "Wait, why are you telling me this now? What changed that made you want to say all of that?"

"Because I wasn't sure. I heard things from some people, but when I saw you were helping Scott, I thought you were like him." Roxie clarified. "That you were just in it to give your band a good name."

"And I can assure you that isn't the case. I'm not helping him for that." You confirmed.

"And it's also a reason why I'm telling you now. You just prevented me from splitting in half, restored me back to full health. Now I know for sure-" Roxie walked up to you. "...you're a good person. A great person."

You were taken aback, but gave a light smile. "Thanks, Roxie."

"So I'll let you in. On my past with Ramona and stuff." Roxie continued. "And you're right. I can't keep this up, if it's hurting me. And my relationship with Ramona. I need to get better. And I'll do that. With your help."

"Thank goodness. I'm glad we could reach an understanding." You breathed out in relief. "So, friends?"

"Yeah. Friends." Roxie agreed, and the two of you shook hands before she left.

Suddenly, your chain began glowing, and you felt a strange power running through your body. You felt a rush, a boost of strength. Your chain began growing in length, taking more and more of your arm as the links multiplied.

When it stopped, your chain was much longer, as it now covered about 3/4 of the lower part of your right arm, short of reaching your elbow.

- Level Up! -

- Y/N earned the Power of Connection. -

The glow dissipated, and with a brand new, longer chain, you stared at your arm for a moment, admiring what had just happened. Using this thing was gonna be a lot more complicated, huh?

"So... you dated twins?" Scott asked, as the battle was now over, his sword disappearing.

"Um... yep." Ramona replied.

"At the same time?" Scott questioned.

"I don't have to answer that!" Ramona exclaimed, nervous.

"Aww, man... Am I gonna have to fight two at once in Season 5?" Scott complained, rubbed the back of his head. "...can this just be the last season?"

"I never said you had to fight two at once?" Ramona clarified.

"Don't worry about it, Scott. If you do have to fight them both at the same time, we'll do so. Together." You cheered, placing your arm around Scott in a reassuring manner.

"Scott, I- I'm sorry! She just slept on the couch, we didn't even make out that much, and I'm sure it was the same with you and Lisa and I was just overreacting, and-" Ramona panicked.

"Ramona, I'm in love with you!" Scott interrupted, grabbing Ramona's arms, giving a big, wide smile.

"I... I think I'm in love with you too, Scott." Ramona confessed before hugging Scott, which prompted him to raise his hands in the air in victory.

And then they made out. In front of you, but you didn't care. If they were happy, you were, too.

"Heh." You said to yourself, pushing your shades to the bridge of your nose. "All in a day's work."

- A Few Days Later, at Ramona's Apartment -

"For the love of God, you two. Get a room." Kim groaned as she saw Scott and Ramona kissing.

"Thanks for helping me move in, you guys!" Scott said, after the two broke the kiss.

"No problemo, dude." You replied, carrying a garbage bag full of Scott's stuff.

"Yeah, whatever. I can't believe you had the audacity to call us over for this." Kim sighed, carrying another garbage bag.

"Is this seriously your only box of stuff aside from those two garbage bags?" Stephen asked, carrying the said box. "That's kind of pathetic, man."

"Hey, at least it's a light load. Would you rather carry more boxes?" You joked.

"It's not heavy, but it's awkward, alright?" Stephen defended, placing the box on the ground.

"There's also this poster, if you actually want to keep it." Kim pointed out, unrolling the poster.

"What poster?" Scott questioned.

"Uh... the idiotic one? It's got girls kissing." Kim deadpanned.

Ramona shot Scott a judging glare, but since she was wearing sunglasses, it kind of took off the effect. It made it a little funny for you, since you also wore shades.

"You know what? You can hang on to it, Kim. You might need it." Scott suggested, giving a thumbs up.

"What?! I ain't takin' your stupid poster!" Kim stuck her tongue out and ripped the poster in two.

"It would've served as a decent thing to hit someone with." You added, chuckling.

- At The Old Apartment, Formerly Wallace's -

"You sure about this, guy?" Wallace asked, standing before a completely empty apartment.

"Yeah, I am. I feel good about it." Scott replied, looking at the room.

"We're all moving on, it seems. New places, new people, and all that." You commented, and looked at your friend.

"Man, you know, I'm really glad everything worked out for you both." Wallace smiled.

"Me too." Scott smiled back.

"Likewise." You added.

"...Because I signed a lease on a place with Mobile like a week and a half ago and you would have seriously screwed over if you wanted to stay!" Wallace admitted, and you all three shared a hearty laugh.

Until Scott stopped laughing. "You bastard." He frowned, and it took you and Wallace a second to realize he was serious.

"Relax, you would've still had Y/N's Virtual World to live in! Yeah, so, give me a call sometime, buddies!" Wallace reassured as he placed a hand in Scott's shoulder.

"He's right. I would've gladly let you live there, if need be. Plus, you'd technically become portable, since the VW is in my head, with video being the means to exit and enter it." You explained, and Scott thought for a moment.

"Well, okay, yeah. I guess. But I'm not forgiving you. Yet." Scott huffed.

"Yeah, well, good luck and whatever, guy." Wallace replied.

- At Kim's Place -

"Right on! I totally rock!" Scott said as he just finished recording his part.

"Yeah, great. You actually improved severely this time. I don't even need to redo your parts this time around." Joseph complimented.

"So I guess we're almost done with the album now!" Scott guessed.

"Actually, yeah. We have a ton of songs ready to go." Stephen corrected.

"And just a few just need some final finishing touches." Joseph added, then turned to you. "Whast was it that you did to my computer, again?"

"I upgraded it using video. It's a complex process, but in a nutshell, the computer is now a lot more powerful and has better memory." You answered. "And the fruits of constant practice managed to cut out the factor of having to redo parts."

"You're an angel, Y/N." Stephen praised. "Makes me wonder what a song written by you would be like."

"Is that a challenge?" You smirked, raising an eyebrow. "I'll bite, then. I'm gonna have something in the works soon. Something... epic."

- At Korean Delite -

Everyone was here! You all sat at the same table, having fun and eating food. It was great, everyone was together and happy. Clockwise, it went you, Neil, Knives, Julie, Stephen, Joseph, Hollie, Jason, Stacey, Wallace, Ramona, Scott, Lisa, and Kim.

"To Lisa and her continued success!" You cheered.

"Hurrah!" Everyone else cheered.

"So your papers came through?" Ramona asked.

"That's right! I'm hopping on the bus on Tuesday." Lisa excitedly explained.

"Ouch... long ride." Kim remarked.

"She'll have the sweet memories of her time in Toronto to keep her company!" Knives pointed out.

"Are we letting Knives drink this time?" Julie whispered to Stephen.

"Hell no, because Y/N will kick our ass." Stephen replied.

"So where's Mobile? I can't believe you've been secretly dating him since Season 3..." Scott questioned.

"He has a migraine. I can't believe you're drinking beer! Is this the transformative power of love, or what?" Wallace replied.

"Nah, I'm just forcing him." Ramona smirked. "How is it, baby?"

"It's yucky." Scott answered.

"I'd recommend something sweeter, then." You suggested. "Like a margarita."

"I'm sorry I've been so stupid about this whole thing." Julie apologized.

"Nah, whatever. Don't mention it." Stephen brushed it off.

"I mean what could you possibly see in her, right? I have nothing to fear!" Julie said.

"Heh, sounds like someone I know." You joked.

"Will we see you again?" Wallace asked.

"I really don't know yet..." Lisa shrugged.

"Maybe on the big screen, right?" Ramona encouraged.

"Definitely on the big screen." You agreed.

"I hope so!" Lisa exclaimed.

"La laa la la la lee loo lalala lala." Scott, drunk after just two sips, nonsense hummed as he swayed his head from side to side.

- So anyway... -

You were outside, sitting on a swing, sketchbook and pencil in hand. "Hm... what to write the song about...? 'You're an angel, Y/N'. That's what Stephen said, huh?" You wondered.

But, you had no ideas at the moment. You weren't by any means a songwriter, but you took on this challenge, and you're gonna see it through. But you needed inspiration, and you weren't sure how to get it. That is, until...

"Hey, Ramona?" Scott asked as he and Ramona sat on a bench.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"How old are you?" Scott questioned.

"I'm 24. And my birthday is January first. Amazing, I know." Ramona chuckled.

"New Year's?! That's... wait, you said amazing..." Scott replied.

"So when's your birthday?" Ramona inquired.

"Uh... soon! It's the 27th. Um, September 27th." Scott answered.

"We'll be the same age!" Ramona smiled.

"Aha!" You exclaimed to yourself as your "eureka" moment struck. "Love. The perfect inspiration. And it's also the most cliché. But it's what I've got. Maybe I can make it more... 'themed' if that's the word."

"Don't you just wish this moment could last forever?" Scott said as he looked toward the sky.

"This moment with your hand on my boob?" Ramona questioned. The two paused, Scott hastily retracted his hand, and Ramona busted laughing. "I think that was more your moment than mine, dude."

"It was an accident!" Scott shyly defended. "Yeah... this moment I could live with."

You took a moment to set the book down, ran to the local bar, and bought three glasses of drinks, and ran back. You stopped at a certain spot and began walking to the two.

"Hello, lovebirds. Got something for you." You greeted, setting down the drinks.

"Aw, Y/N. What's the occasion?" Ramona asked.

"Nothing much. Just, the future looks bright. So, I wanted to dedicate a toast to not only the two of you, but to the future of all our friends." You proclaimed, raising your glass. "May the days to come bring joy to us all, may we look forward to many years of happiness, and to the bright future ahead! Here's to us!"

"Cheers!" Scott and Ramona smiled, and the three of you clinked glasses.
