Chapter 3

Ivys POV

As soon as I entered, I immediately closed it and leaned against the door. I took a deep breath and looked up. I approached the large mirror here in the bathroom.

"Is there something lacking in me? Why is it always Ate? Because Ate—"I couldn't finish what I was going to say when someone came in, it was Ate Vivory.

"Aw, lil sister. Trying hard to be me?"she mocked while looking at me up and down.

I bowed down my head even more, nothing. Ate still wins no matter how you look at it.

"You poor thing, I'm Mom's favorite daughter but I can't force her to let me marry Gab just because I'm his girlfriend. What did you do? You really steal what's mine"she shouted at me.

"Sis, I didn't do I'm also surprised that—"

"Shut up! You wanted it because you like my boyfriend!"she interrupted."

"And I will not allow you to married and live under the same roof." she said as she suddenly pushed me.

I lost my balance and hit my head on something hard. My vision was spinning, I held the spot on my head where it hit. There was blood, and feeling dizzy, I looked at my sister who was screaming, messing up her hair, and slapping herself.

"Argghhhh! Stop!"she shouted and smirked at me."

“A-ate..”

The door burst open with a bang, I didn't know who it was, my vision started to spin, and before I lost consciousness, I felt someone lift me up and everything suddenly went dark.

I woke up to the beam of light, too bright. I slowly opened my eyes but I was still dizzy.

"You're awake," Gab said firmly.

My headache got worse because I suddenly got up.

Gab supported me. "I'm okay, I can handle this. Why are you here?"I asked him.

"What did you do to Vivory?"

"Huh?"

Why am I being questioned? I didn't do anything to Ate.

"Don't play dumb, why there's scratches all over Vivory when we caught you two in the restroom?"he said firmly while gripping my arm tightly.

I twitched in pain. "I didn't do anything to my sister, she did that. Who among us has long nails? She is, I can't grow long nails because I'll scratch myself," I replied, trying to pull away from his grip on my arm.

He looked at my hand, then suddenly let it go. I saw the imprint of his hand on my arm, Dad doesn't hold me that tightly.

Slowly, he leaned his face closer to mine, our lips almost touching, and I could smell his perfume.

"I will never like you, we are only married on paper but your sister is the one I love and will love." he said and left me.

I'm packing my things, it's been four days since Ate and I had a fight. Mom and Dad said I would be living in Gab's house at Cavite, the two of us.

"Hurry up, Ivy. Your fiancée is already in the living room, waiting for you" Dad said while knocking on my bedroom door.

"Yes, I'm almost done," I replied, and I only heard his footsteps fading away.

I looked at myself in the mirror, wearing a satin polo shirt, skirt, and rubber shoes.

I carried the things I would bring and went go downstairs.

"Thank youu po," I said when our guard carried the bags.

I caught my parents and Gab talking.

"He looks so handsome when he smiles."

I was surprised when they all looked at me at the same time, and Gab's mood suddenly changed, becoming cold.

"You’re already here, Ivy. Gab has been waiting for you for a while," Dad said as I approached them.

"Sorry for the delay, I brought my things quite a lot." I smiled awkwardly.

"I wish you hadn't brought it, so you wouldn't have to go through the weight of your things. I can buy it for you if you need," Gab said blankly.

They were still talking about the company, but I didn't understand a single thing. I found myself riding in Gab's car.

"Oh no! I didn't say goodbye properly to Mom and Dad!"I said in a panic while looking at Gab, who was staring straight ahead at the road while driving.

"No need, they know that your safe because I'm with you," he said.

It was so quiet inside the car while traveling, not a single one of us spoke. I looked out the window, and all I could see were fields and trees. The view is so beautiful, but I'm feeling sleepy.

"You can take a nap, I'll wake you up when we get there," Gab suddenly said.

It looks like this will be a long travel ride, I adjusted my seat and leaned my back, closed my eyes, and everything went black.
