The children's laughter floated in the air like invisible little bells. The amusement park stretched out before them like a colorful dream: carousels spinning under twinkling lights, cotton candy as big as pillows, balloons floating against a sky so blue it looked hand-painted.

Lara walked calmly, holding Thiago's hand as he skipped between pools of shadow and light. Beside her, Dimitri pushed a stroller filled with sweets and gifts. His smile couldn't hide how happy he was to be close to his sister again.

"This kid is going to end up more spoiled than a runway model," Dimitri said, throwing a playful look at Lara. "But I admit, he has your charm. That saves him."
