Amanda’s POV
A week had passed, since Mr mysterious.
And here I was at work, alone, why, you may ask. Well, due to the face, that Charles and Caroline disrupted their contract on the no dating policy in the company, they had to get jobs else where, and that had to do with them moving to another state.
I missed them, but, what could I do?.
I continued living my life like no body’s business. Eating, sleeping, working, working out (wink), and going out on dates. Well, two actually, and they were horrible.
I compared each of them to Raphael, why?. I had absolutely no idea. It was more like I craved him, way too much for my own good.
Every night I’d go to bed, his face and touch would haunt me, and it was starting to drive me bunkers. I didn’t think about Charles anymore, all my thoughts were about the mystery man. What the hell is going one?.
Well, as I grabbed the my coffee from the cafeteria, I and my colleagues walked to the announcements hall, where important or urgent informations were passed. The CFO wanted to pass a very important info to us, and also wanted to introduce us to someone important.
“Girl, you need to give me the number of your hair stylist. This shade of brown looks super good on you. Damn!.” Kyle said, giving me macaroon which he had taken from the cafeteria.
I smiled sheepishly and received it.
Kyle was a brilliant geek, whom worked close with the CFO, and was dying in unrequited love, just like me, some time ago. He was Bi , and the CFO was a Striaght woman, named Annabel. She was rumoured to be in a very exclusive relationship with a billionaire, and was also rumoured to be engaged to him. Such a lucky woman.
“Thanks Kyle”. I said, grabbing the macron from his hand.
“Let’s sit up front, pleaseee… I want to get a chance to stare at Annabel”. He said, not giving me a chance to answer, before pulling my hand, and leading me to the front seat. I chuckled at his behaviour, I’ve been there, and I sure as hell know why it was like.
Annabel walked to the podium, making everywhere go silent, she said a few words, then got down to how our company had been bought by someone new, meaning, we were gonna have a new CEO, and weirdly, she had a smile on her face. I guess she was happy, maybe he was a better person than the last one.
“Please a round of applause for Mr. Joaquin Raphael Steel.” She said, and a round of applause followed.
All the colour drained from my face, I wanted to enter the ground, I wanted to run, I wanted to be shot, I wanted to disappear, but none happened. It was him. It was bloody him!.
Annabel hugged him, and placed a kiss on his lips, which he frown upon briefly before returning back to his normal poker face.
She was marking her territory. He was her fiancé. Wait.. Annabel? Bella?. Oh my God!. This can’t be true. He’s my boss?. What the hell is going on?!.
The sounds of hands clapping died down, and Slience greeted us. He had not noticed me yet. And I was trying my best to cover my face.
He started by telling everyone how pleased he was with the warm welcome, and then he got down to business. He said he didn’t tolerate tardiness, laziness, unserious mess and procrastination. He said he wanted to create a working environment with very accommodating staffs. From the bottom to the top, then he started calling everyone by ranking, asking them to stand, and giving them instructions.
Then it came to the pint of the receptionists. I stood on shaky leg, scared, terrified and confused on what to do. And right there and then, his eyes landed on me, he didn’t take them off me, and I started feeling my knees giving out on me. And for the first time ever, I saw him smile. A dangerous one, the type a predator gives to its prey, and I knew, I was doomed!.
