"Tell Vivienne to take the agreement and get the hell out!"
"I don't want to see her still in that villa before I get back!"
In the dead of night, a clap of thunder shook the sky.
Alaric suddenly woke up, instinctively reaching out to hold the person beside him.
But when he met Harlow's unfamiliar sleeping face, he realized he had mistaken her for someone else.
Of course, only that woman would be too frightened by thunder to sleep.
In the past, he used to habitually cover that woman's ears, and when she was woken up by the noise, he would mock her for having too many guilty secrets.
He just sat there on the bed, staring at the spacious room. His previous agitation had dissipated considerably after venting and the cool air following the storm. Instead, he was left with a feeling of emptiness and loss.
Still uneasy, he got dressed intending to go home, but Harlow clung to him.
"Alaric, where are you going in the middle of the night?"
