Chapter 8: Hero Costume Reveal & First Combat Training

The atmosphere inside U.A.'s Support Department workshop buzzed with excitement as Class 1-A gathered to receive their custom hero costumes. Each student was eager to see how their designs would enhance their abilities in real combat.

Ryo Kisaragi, however, remained calm as always, standing slightly apart from the more energetic students.

As the lockers unlocked, everyone rushed to change. Moments later, when they stepped onto the training field in their new gear, reactions were immediate.

Ryo's Omega Gear was a sleek, black-and-crimson battle suit with glowing red energy lines pulsing across his body, designed to regulate his optic energy output. His visor wasn't just for protection—it actively linked to his Omega Sight, displaying enhanced tactical data. The reinforced boots and gloves improved impact resistance, while his coat-like armored vest provided extra durability without restricting movement.

"Dude, that looks sick," Kaminari whistled.

"Looks like something out of a sci-fi movie," Jirou noted.

Momo analyzed it carefully. "The energy lines—are they connected to your Quirk?"

Ryo gave a small nod. "They help control energy expenditure."

Before the conversation could continue, All Might's booming voice filled the training grounds.

"STUDENTS! PREPARE YOURSELVES, FOR TODAY, YOU STEP INTO THE WORLD OF HEROES!"

The students were divided into teams for a battle trial simulation.

The objective? Capture the opposing villains or secure the target item inside a designated structure.

Ryo was paired with Momo Yaoyorozu.

Their opponents? Shoto Todoroki and Mezo Shoji.

Inside the training grounds, the match began. Immediately, Todoroki froze half the battlefield, creating thick walls of ice.

Momo exhaled sharply. "He's trying to block our movement."

Ryo remained still. "Let him."

Shoji, using his enhanced agility, vaulted across rooftops, scouting for them. Todoroki, meanwhile, took a calculated step forward. His ice spread even further, closing off potential escape routes.

But Ryo wasn't planning to escape.

Another wave of ice surged forward, aiming to trap them—

Ryo simply fired two optic blasts—one at the ice, the other at the ground beneath him.

The first shattered the ice mid-formation. The second propelled Ryo into the air.

Todoroki's eyes widened. He's using his beams to fly?

While airborne, Ryo twisted his body and unleashed three curved beams—

One targeting Shoji.

The other two are heading straight for Todoroki.

Shoji barely dodged, using his multiple arms to shield himself. But Todoroki?

The beams curved midair, dodging the frozen barriers and striking him in the shoulder.

Todoroki staggered but quickly retaliated—

A massive ice pillar shot up from the ground, attempting to impale Ryo midair.

Ryo smirked. Predictable.

He angled his next shot downward, using the force to launch himself over the attack. Then, mid-flip, he fired again—

Two shots ricocheted off the walls and struck Todoroki from behind.

Todoroki gritted his teeth, planting his foot down to reinforce himself. He refused to use his fire. Instead, he raised an entire frozen barricade between himself and Ryo.

That's when Momo saw her chance.

She generated a reinforced carbon-fiber staff and sprinted forward.

Shoji moved to intercept her, using his multiple arms to cut off her path—

But Ryo had already anticipated it.

Four rapid precision shots.

Two struck the ground, forcing Shoji to stumble.

The other two?

They curved around his defenses and hit him in the lower back.

Shoji collapsed to one knee.

Sensing the tide turning, Todoroki launched massive ice spikes in all directions, trying to slow Ryo down—

But Ryo didn't slow down.

With one final, concentrated optic pulse, he struck the base of Todoroki's ice structure—

Shattering the entire formation.

Momo wasted no time.

She created a pair of reinforced cuffs and tossed them at Todoroki and Shoji, restraining them before they could recover.

MATCH OVER.

The observation deck was silent.

All Might, arms crossed, let out a low whistle. "That was… efficient."

Aizawa nodded slightly. "He didn't just overpower them. He outmaneuvered them at every step."

Back on the battlefield, Todoroki flexed his wrists.

"You saw through everything," he admitted.

Shoji nodded. "Your Quirk isn't just about power… It's about control."

Ryo adjusted his visor. "If you hesitate, you lose."

Momo crossed her arms. "You held back, didn't you?"

Ryo smirked—

But didn't answer.

The first day of U.A. had only just begun, and already, Ryo Kisaragi had established himself as the most dominant force in Class 1-A.
