After some drifting, we lost them temporarily. When we couldn't see them in the rearview mirror. We stopped the car in front of a wooded area.


"We should hide here, you get down now and find a spot. I will move the car a bit further, and then I will come here and join you."


I nodded got out of the car and went into the woods. But I really didn't have a good feeling about this, I felt like even though we left the car I could still feel that someone might be onto me. Maybe I was being paranoid.


I walked a little deeper into the woods but stopped to sit at a tree trunk to wait for him. I was afraid that if I went any deeper he wouldn't be able to find me.


I was sitting there bored out of my mind. When I heard some noise of twigs being snapped, I realized it must be Vernon who came looking for me, when I was about to open my mouth to call him, a large hand clasped on my mouth, silenced me sufficiently, and also almost suffocated me. Someone whispered into my ears.
