[HOLLY’s Point of View]
My mind went black. Everything was black until I sensed my husband holding me with his fingers caressing the side of my face.
“E-Evlon—”
"Love...” Evander’s voice was gentle but tensed as I looked into his darkened eyes. “You have to calm down.”
I couldn’t believe I heard those words from him. My anger slipped, and I barred my teeth at him,
“How could you say that!? EVLON IS GONE! HE WAS TAKEN—”
That’s when I realized why all their eyes were terrified and wary as they stared at me. Even Mel was hiding behind Alec; both were pale as paper sheets.
From my husband’s green eyes, I looked down and found myself covered with curtain sheets and was naked underneath the thick fabric. The other side of the wall of the nursery was crumpled into debris. Evlon’s crib, including other furniture, was splintered into pieces, and our family picture lay on the floor with the glass shattered and scattered on the floor along with the rubbles.
