Chapter 36

EMILY'S POV

I pushed open the door and walked in, my head held high. My eyes darted across the room as my heart pounded though I was ready for their questioning.

But judging from the dark looks on their faces, it wasn't going to be so easy. The tension in the room was thick as I advanced towards the head of the table.

I could feel it. Their eyes burned holes in me as I stood above them. I wasn't comfortable enough to sit down, not when their faces were contorted in anger.

The oldest elder and the man that resisted my role as Alpha during the coronation ceremony was the first to speak up just as I expected.

His brows were raised as he shot me a sharp glare, I remained silent keeping my expression neutral as I waited for their words.

“Alpha Emily.” He boomed, throwing a newspaper on the table in front of me. “What is this?” He snarled.
