LUCY’S POV
My eyes slowly fluttered open, I was immediately disoriented and blinded by the bright light.
Where was I?
The white ceiling blurred above me and I blinked hard before I focused on the two figures sitting near my bed—Christian and my mother. Panic surged through me as I remembered everything that happened with the nurses in the empty surgery room..
I looked down at the bandages on my arm, still hurting from the cut. The monitors beeped around me as my heart raced.
I glanced at my mother and I was surprised to see her beaming at me, this wasn't the reaction I expected when she found out I tried to kill myself.
“You are awake, Lucy,” She said softly, her eyes lit with joy.
My brows furrowed as I stared at her in confusion. I glanced at Christian and he looked visibly uncomfortable in his chair as he stared back at me.
“Mom..?” I said as I tried to sit up slowly.
“No, don't move!” She exclaimed gently pushing me back onto the bed, his grip tight.
