Anita’s pov
I strode into the office building, the noise from the ongoing activities immediately halting as I stepped into view. Conversations died mid-sentence, and the sound of shuffling papers abruptly ceased. The atmosphere shifted, thick with unease. It was something I’d grown used to—being met with uncertainty and hesitation wherever Hades’ influence lingered.
My heels clicked against the floor, each step strong as I approached the central desk. The staff exchanged sneaky glances, none daring to meet my gaze directly.
“Where is he?” My voice was firm, unwavering, as I addressed the cluster of employees hovering nearby. They stiffened, their reactions immediate and telling. It was clear they knew exactly who I was talking about.
