Chapter 99

Anita’s POV

I stormed down the gravel path leading away from the pack offices, my footsteps quick and forceful. The echo of my words from earlier still buzzed in my ears. Stubborn, arrogant, impossible… a jerk. My hands clenched into fists at my sides as I replayed the encounter with Hades. My Mate.

“Unbelievable,” I muttered under my breath, my frustration spilling into the open air. “Completely, utterly unbelievable. He thinks he can just decide for me—dismiss my choices like they don’t matter. Like I don’t matter.”

My voice rose slightly, carrying on the wind, but there was no one to hear me—not that I cared if anyone did. The anger boiling in my chest was all-consuming, leaving no room for caution. Yet, beneath the heat of my rage, there was something else. A pang of guilt? No. That wasn’t it. Confusion, maybe. I shook my head, pushing the thought away.
