Anita’s POV
The exhaustion clung to me like a heavy fog, seeping into every corner of my being. I glanced back over my shoulder, where Alpha Hades stood several paces behind me, his expression a mixture of concern and frustration. His eyes, now muted from their earlier intensity, softened when they met mine. It wasn’t enough to thaw the lingering tension between us, but it made me pause.
“I’m going back,” I said softly, breaking the silence. “I’m tired. I can’t… deal with this right now.”
Alpha Hades stepped closer, closing the distance between us cautiously, as if afraid I might bolt. “Do you want me to come with you?” His voice was low, hesitant.
I hesitated, staring down at the ground as I considered his offer. I opened my mouth to reply, but the words never came. A sudden wave of dizziness crashed over me, and the world tilted violently.
“Anita?” Alpha Hades’ voice was sharp with alarm.
