Reflection and Meetings

Central City, Government House Meeting Hall, a certain unease persisted.

After the initial Sun and Moon Ceremony, a feeling of strangeness accompanied me.

Everything escalated at the culmination of the final ritual. It is crucial to note that the ceremony's original organization did not include this additional journey; the itinerary was meant to conclude at the Central City Basilica, where festivities would extend until dawn.

At the request of Simte and the Kingdom's Religious Council, we undertook this final rite, with the purpose of establishing communication with the divinities.

Initially, I expressed my reluctance, as I found no logic in such an act, given that my origin from the future implied a vision where polytheism was not an ingrained belief. However, the insistence of my parents and Simte persuaded me, and thus the ritual was scheduled with a discreet profile.

That private pilgrimage had generated singular effects within me.

Those in my closest circle began to perceive me with a more fantastic aura, seeing me as an extraordinary being coexisting among humans. If they had harbored any uncertainty before, it completely dissipated after the events that transpired at that altar.

Besides my close associates, the priests and governors, who previously showed me respect, now did so with an evident devotion, a situation that deeply annoyed me.

The situation reached such a magnitude that I decided to participate, anonymously, in the first official wrestling competition within the 10 to 13-year-old fighter section. My sole desire was to demonstrate my condition as a mere mortal, capable of bleeding and experiencing suffering.

"I cannot allow this to continue," I thought, irritated, at that precise moment.

I competed in three qualifying rounds.

The result was the acquisition of injuries of varying severity. My body was covered in bruises and scrapes, and I had even twisted my shoulder.

After a single day of recovery, I proceeded to the round of sixteen. However, this time I faced one of the young men from the Explorer Division, and I succumbed to defeat after a grueling combat.

The moment my opponent's victory was announced; I struggled to rise from the muddy ground and slowly removed the face paint and mask I used as a disguise.

An absolute silence fell over the arena.

Everyone fixed their gaze on my face, on my eyes.

My left eye, slightly silver-colored, was unmistakable and captivated everyone's attention above all else.

"Finally, they will stop treating me like a god," I thought at that moment, my breathing erratic and the pain I felt seemingly vanishing due to adrenaline.

What I had not anticipated was that my performance in the fight, even against considerably older opponents, would only further enhance people's esteem for me.

"Wow! It's the Son of Heaven! He's a great warrior! Long live SuaChie Chuta! Long live the Gods!" shouted everyone in the arena, filled with emotion.

Since that battle, enthusiasts of combat and sports, members of the army, and the general populace began to join this campaign of adoration.

The problem lay in the fact that I was growing too accustomed to being cherished and respected.

Previously, I merely interpreted it as a social gesture, stemming from deeply rooted beliefs and the prophecy that linked my birth to the prevention of a future catastrophe.

But now the sensation was more tangible, as if I truly were a figure of utmost importance to them, someone in whom they entrusted their future, and even someone they loved.

"This no longer seems like just a game," I reflected at that moment.

When I was transported to this point in history as a mere infant, my first attempt was to decipher my location and the reason for my 'rebirth'. However, as the months passed, in my infant state, I began to perceive all of this as a mere game.

I strove to improve my family's living conditions, provided support to my siblings, to the priests, to all my people.

Subsequently, influenced by the convictions of the local priests and the prophecy, I developed an interest in unifying all peoples into a single nation, with the aim of elevating the Muisca's technological level and developing something unprecedented.

The drawback lies in the fact that many of my actions or decisions were made considering development parameters used in games from my previous life.

Even the creation of the Shadows, a private intelligence group, arose from this same playful perspective.

Although I never considered human lives as mere numbers, my proposals for technological, political, and cultural advancements were presented without considering the idiosyncrasies of individuals.

I disregarded their individuality and imposed my way of thinking above all else.

I reached a point where I even wished to impose Christian beliefs as the primary religion, simply because it was a system familiar to me and, to a certain extent, due to a slight disdain for the belief in multiple gods.

But now the situation has changed.

Now I feel intrinsically part of this new and unique culture that we are collectively building.

Over the past few years, my role has been limited to being the driving force behind necessary measures to improve the quality of life for the kingdom's citizens, refraining from intervening in key decisions.

"I will only be a guide," I said unconsciously amidst the meeting, my tone resolute and my gaze fixed on the horizon, as if issuing a declaration of war.

"How? What do you mean, Young Chuta?" inquired the ministers closest to me.

"It happened to me again," I thought, annoyed.

It was the second time that day I had lost myself in my own thoughts. Ever since I gained the ability to recall everything I see or hear, I spend considerable time unconsciously reflecting, which greatly irritates me.

The only favorable aspect of this condition is that those around me tend to link this state with revelations of 'divine wisdom'.

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about not continuing to lead the kingdom and leaving everything in your hands... I would just be a guide and would not intervene," I said the first thing that came to mind.

"What?! The Son of Heaven should not harbor such thoughts! We need you! Without your guidance, we would not have come this far! You are still too young to retire!" everyone exclaimed, visibly agitated.

"Ugh... I messed it up again," I thought, with a pang of dejection. "Apparently, the idea of me stepping down as leader disturbs them greatly."

"Calm down, it's just a thought that suddenly crossed my mind... However, you must consider that a day will come when I need a rest. Furthermore, each year we are discovering more capable individuals in the Kingdom, and perhaps one of them can fill my position in the future," I commented with a calm tone.

"We understand, Young Chuta," some of them assented with resignation.

"Let's continue with the meeting."

I refocused on the reports, striving to avoid further unconscious ruminations.

The rest of the ministers and directors of the departments and institutions continued with their respective presentations.

The Ministry of the People reported favorable statistics regarding general employment and the growth of agricultural production, especially highlighting the Eastern Region, governed by my sister Chuquy.

The Department of External Relations confirmed the Minister of Commerce's statements and added that initial commercial relations have been established with the Incas. However, the latter are in a period of expansion and face internal problems, which generates some apprehension regarding our presence.

The Department of Innovation detailed, in general terms, some advancements in new technologies.

The Department of Family reported on a new population increase, the establishment of the Kingdom's Homes of Honor and Orphanages in the new regions. Additionally, it announced, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, the implementation of hygiene techniques and natal care in the recently annexed regions.

The Department of Economy reported on the investigation of new forms of trade in the recent regions, as well as the relocation of certain industries from the central areas to these regions as a measure of economic support.

Banco Suaza reported on the establishment of new branches in the new regions, and on the increase in 'appraisal' or currency exchange rates in the older regions.

The Kingdom's Treasury revealed the overall state of the coffers, greatly surprising everyone present.

"These are very good news... Now we will move on to the decisions for this new year."

After this, we spent half an hour debating the use of resources, the implementation of new policies, and the support to be granted to each region.

In the afternoon.

"Ugh... I'm very tired," I sighed, leaning back in the armchair in my living room.

"You should delegate these meetings to someone else, Young Chuta," Fiba advised me with concern.

"Mmmm... that could be, but ultimately, that person would also have to inform me of everything, and even the making of key decisions would be considerably delayed," I replied to Fiba, grateful for her concern.

Throughout the entire day, with the sole exception of midday, I had moved between the city's various key buildings.

In the morning, I transitioned from meetings at the Command Office with the military, to the Government House with the ministers and the new governors. Then, during the afternoon, I walked to the Basilica for a meeting with the Religious Council, then visited the Kingdom's Laboratory, and finally the brand-new building of the Suaza Chamber of Commerce.

All the meetings were extensive and tedious, but the positive aspect was the absence of unfavorable news from any of the parties.

Now, the only thing left was the meeting with the Aztecs at the Government House.

"How many days have the Aztecs been here?" I inquired Fiba with curiosity.

"They have been here for three days. A group of people oversaw guiding them through the city and they have stayed in this 'Embassy' that you created," she replied.

"I see... Did they get into any trouble?" I asked.

"No... Initially, they seemed quite haughty and proud, but the director of the Department of External Relations suggested offering them a military demonstration by the city's regiment, and from then on, they began to behave better," she replied, with a slight laugh.

"Hahaha... It seems Michuá impressed them quite a bit."

[A/N: CHAPTER COMPLETED

Hello everyone.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

I know it's a bit dense at first, but I realized I was assuming everyone could understand Chuta's mental state, who is only 8 years old (in his previous life, he lived for around 25 years), just from a few details. That's why I spent the first part of the chapter developing this important detail.

Chuta keeps hearing about improvements in the kingdom; as I told you before, I won't spend four chapters just on this. Also, we learn that he participated in a sporting event.

Unnecessary fact of the day: Most ethnic groups in Colombia and Venezuela at that time didn't have large populations. And those with the smallest populations are those who inhabited the jungles of both countries.
