I instantly realized that the relationship between Felicity and Soren must be far from ordinary.
"Thank you," I managed to force out a smile.
Suddenly, my asthma violently flared up, and I couldn't stop coughing.
A suffocating sensation overcame me as I desperately gasped for air.
I reached into my bag for my inhaler, only to find it wasn't there.
Felicity leisurely pulled out an inhaler, holding it high where I couldn't reach.
"Sister dear, having an asthma attack, are we?"
A flash of cruelty gleamed in her eyes. "You want this? Well, you can't have it!"
She dangled the inhaler tauntingly. Seeing the medication so close yet unreachable, I felt my spirit crumbling...
Thankfully, at that critical moment, a familiar voice rang out.
It was Soren!
"Felicity, what the hell are you doing to my darling?!"
His expression of fury and concern seemed utterly genuine!
When I regained consciousness, I found myself in the hospital.
I had passed out from the asthma attack.
Felicity stood before me, her face feigning remorse.
"Sister, I had no idea that inhaler was yours."
The tassels on her earrings swayed irritatingly.
Damien's face was cold with rage: "Do you realize you nearly killed her?!"Felicity said tearfully, "I really can't read. I couldn't make out the words on that medicine bottle..."
My sister-in-law rushed in, her eyes brimming with tears. "Sis, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine."
I glanced around but didn't see Soren anywhere.
"Where's Kaiser?"
My sister-in-law hesitated, "Big bro... he... he said he had urgent business at the company and couldn't make it."
I sighed, exhausted, and said, "Miss Bennett, would you please leave my hospital room?"
Felicity shook her head with a smile, "Sis, I came to apologize, I..."
"Miss Bennett, please leave," Damien said coldly.
Felicity pouted and reluctantly left the room.
The hospital room finally fell silent.
I spent a sleepless night, plagued by nightmares.
In my dreams, it was all Soren and Felicity in bed...
There were even scenes of the two of them, with vicious expressions, trying to kill me!
The next day, Soren arrived fashionably late.
"Darling, are you feeling any better?"
He gently stroked my head, attempting to comfort me.I look at him, keeping a straight face: "Soren, be honest with me, what's your relationship with Felicity?"
Soren pauses for a moment, clearly not expecting this question.
He stands by the bed, looking at me with a complex expression: "What do you mean, what's my relationship with Felicity?"
I ask calmly: "Soren, I hope you can tell me the truth, so I can make room for her."
Soren frowns: "Don't overthink it, there's nothing between Felicity and me."
"Really nothing?" I smirk, "That day in the car, she was familiar with it. She didn't ask where we were going, and she even took my inhaler. And then there's her earring left in the car. Can you still say there's nothing between you two?"
"Vivienne, listen to me, there is absolutely nothing between Felicity and me."
Soren takes out his phone, scrolls to his sister-in-law's chat, and says: "My sister borrowed this car. She doesn't know Felicity, but they happen to go to the same college, so they rode together."
He opens a video clip, which was recorded by the dash cam.In the video, Felicity casually slipped my inhaler into her own bag and playfully toyed with my tassel earrings.
All of this was premeditated on her part.
Seeing this, Soren sighed and still defended Felicity: "She just likes to joke around. It's not a big deal. I'll have her apologize to you tomorrow."
Those words sent a pang through my heart!
I didn't say anything, just kept my eyes open, stubbornly refusing to let the tears fall!
In the afternoon, Felicity indeed came over at Soren's prompting.
She bowed to me and said, "Sis, I'm sorry. I really didn't know you had asthma, otherwise I definitely wouldn't have done that."
I accepted her apology, but the hurt in my heart just wouldn't go away.
Soren said that to put my mind at ease, he wouldn't let Felicity near us anymore, and even his sister would keep her distance.
Afterwards, he gently comforted me, saying, "Felicity is just a girl with a difficult personality. Don't take it to heart."
Life returned to normal, and Soren remained as attentive as ever.
Felicity seemed to have vanished into thin air.
