Chapter Sixty One

"Why not use my car to the airport? You don't need to rent a truck, you know." I suggested.

"I do not intend to take much of my belongings, Paige. Plus, I already submitted an application for a job, hopefully I'll get a job and start a new life. I'm leaving all those in my apartment."

"Rich babe!" Ria shrieked. We laughed. She stopped a taxi and got in. We waved her goodbyes and walked back into the house, Ria behind me. She held on to my waist slyly. That awful scene came back, my stomach churned. I still didn't understand what happened to me. Why was I so hurt when they kissed? How crazy? Ria is just a friend!

"What again, Ria?"

"I have a question." We were moving, to the kitchen, wherever her hands led me.

"Go ahead."

"You were jealous, right? You want an explanation, don't you?"

I sighed, feeling hot. She pinned me to the kitchen table, I turned to argue, but she was faster. She raised me and placed me on the table. Wow, am I that weightless? No, she's older…and prettier.

Those pair of blue eyes staring at me with both lust and hunger, I didn't see that at first. I only saw my pretty friend, asking me a question and staring like she usually does. Her hands on my lap, I had a very strange feeling. I tried to convince myself that I was just being paranoid because of what I heard about them earlier and my strange new feeling…

"Will you stop staring at me like that?"

"No." She shook her head, retaining her stare. "Your face doesn't tell me to stop."

Oh, now she's making me feel like a little child.

"Well, I'll go prepare for my evening lectures." I tried to get down, but she held me still. Ria will be the death of me, if I don't leave now!

My brain was saying crazy things. You don't want to know!

"You haven't answered my questions!"

"Your question are irrational!" I yelled." Come on, why should I be jealous of you two? I have never had feelings for a girl and I never will. I was just shocked to see that. You two hid that so we'll from me. You have a problem and you both need help!"

She laughed." You're so raw. Like me…" She moved her fingers to my lips. "I don't need help. I'm not Kim. And Kim, you see she got the best therapist and I can say for sure she will find a boyfriend when she gets to Brittany. You… Just got into my head and I can't get you out of it. I'm sorry I…"

Her thumb tenderly played across my lips.

I flinched. "Stop. I would rather not be a part of this Ria. I'll get you a therapist or whatever. I just…"

"Your heart is saying something else, Paige." She winked. Her hands fumbled around my laps. I closed my eyes, bit my lips. This isn't happening.

"I want all this to be mine, Paige." She unbuttoned the cotton shirt that I wore. I froze in place.

Lord help, I don't want to do this.

Actually, I… would like to.

"Even if it's just going to be once. I love you, Paige."

My thoughts were contradicting each other. She kisses from my neck up to my lips and like a hungry lion she devoured my mouth. I didn't know what to think. It's Ria, my roommate. This should not be happening. I said the last time that I would not let her kiss me again. Paige, open your damn eyes and tell her to stop. I commanded myself, but my flesh didn't succumb. Instead, I was kissing her back.

"Oh my. You taste so delicious. "She gasped.

"You know what I think…"

"You're the best kisser in the world. Who taught you…this much."

I felt her hands on the zip of my jeans. My hands were busy, wrapped around her shoulder. She really wanted to make out with me. I tried to remember where we were. The kitchen? Ria!

Then I heard footsteps, I was sure Ria would be deaf to them. She was still struggling to get my zipper open. I ignored it at first, kissing this time with intention. She tasted so exquisite, and I was too hot to get interrupted by feint footsteps that might just be a part of my imagination.

Then another, my eyes flew open. Things happened so fast. I caught a glimpse of someone. I caught a glimpse of Damien, then footsteps.

My heart squeezed.

Damien! I pushed Ria off me and ran to the living room to find out who the person was. I saw a car leave the lobby,, and it was Damien's. He must have seen us. What? Oh, my, how do I explain? Ria joined me at the window, a grin on her face.

"Who was it?" She asked.

"Your boss." I muttered.

She placed her hands over her mouth. I tried hard to fight tears from dropping from my eyes.

"But what could Henry be doing here? I didn't invite him." She slumped into the couch, looking as depressed as I was.

"You left the door open. Oh! my… What a shame!"

She walked over and embraced me. "I'm sorry."

If only that could help me feel better.

"He probably saw us."

"Henry is my boss. Our secret is safe."

Secret!

"Secret?" I rolled my eyebrows and swallowed a lump in my throat. "Ria? Are you kidding me now?"

"What? Why are you taking these personal? We were having a good time anyway."

Good time?!

"No!"

She frowned.

"We are ladies, Ria. We were one step into being lesbians."

"Does that even matter?" She said." I would not mind being a lesbian with you."

I sighed, frustrated.

"I'm out of here." I picked up my bag and walked out.
