She stumbled into her room, drunk on wine. Her gaze was blurry but she could see that someone else was in her room. She remembered Ethan asked each of them to pick a room. At first, she guessed she had entered the wrong room, so she turned to leave but she heard a voice that startled her.
"Katrienair, you're finally back." Julian who had been worried about her disappearance. Ethan was the only one who helped calm his nerve. He told him where she had gone to and that she'd be fine. He walked towards her.
"What you doing here? Is this not my room?"
"I was waiting for you. I was so worried. Why did you stay out this late?"
Katrienair tried to lift her feet, to move but she staggered yet again but this time was caught by Julian. She flinched.
"Did you find her? Did you go out to search for her?" She was asking of Luna.
"No"
"You should get back to your room. I'm back and safe."She tried to move to her bed but fell again. This time she fell hard on her face. Julian reached out to her to help. She stood up and helped herself to the bathroom. She needed a cool bath.
"I'm safe Julian, go get some sleep." She said as she shut the door of the bathroom. She slumped into the bathtub feeling light-headed. The world have turned its back on her at this critical stage of her life. She lost her god-damned ability at the verge of achieving her purpose. She has lost all, even Luna. How careless? She felt like she was the worst person in the world and she deserved what she was experiencing, even more. There are reasons, she feared death when she should not have, she fell in love with a demon and isn't willing to let go. She should really be stoned to death. When she was sure that the effect of the wine has subsided. She got in her robe and walked out of the bathroom. She was shocked to see that Julian was still there. She slipped off the ground, falling hard on her back. Her world spun as the wounds on her back opened up.
Julian rushed over to her, her groans made him sick.
"Katrienair, are you okay?"He gasped while he carried her to the bed. He wished he could get drugs but they don't exist.
Though, She was in pain, deep down her consciousness was mad that she was just in a robe, a short black robe.
"Katrienair, are you..."
"Shut up!"She groaned in pain.
Julian laughed. "You never get sober, do you? You fell like an idiot."
"You!"She kicked him. He was on the bed, leaning right beside her. She suddenly felt all he face disappeared as his hot breathe teased her face.
"Idiot, you're too close."Instead, he moved closer to her. "You said you don't drink wine."
"Huh wine?"She laughed."I took wine and it was nice. Very nice, I... could not resist."She paused."you...wanna taste? I can get you some."
She tried to get off the bed but he dragged her back. She groaned in pain since he just touched one of her wounds.
"Ah that hurts. Don't touch me!"
"I'm sorry."He apologized. "but stay, you're hurt. Don't get me wine."
"No, you should have a taste then you'll know what I'm talking about" She turned out to leave but he dragged her back again. Gush! She's so slurpy when drunk. He held her close to himself, his gaze fixed in her soft innocent lips."i will...have a taste...of wine."
Katrienair traced his gaze, laughed at the realization of what he meant.
She stared at him like a cat. "I get you...you wanna taste." She reached for his chin, held her it up to he face. He tried to hold her but she flinched --her wounds.
Gush! She had wounds all over and they're taking forever to heal.
"I'll give you a taste but don't go too..."
Then he kissed her, invade her mouth, mingled with her tongue. The taste of wine he got and more...
It's not his first time kissing her but each kiss always tasted and felt different. He tried hard to tame his hands in order not to hurt her. In her drunk state, Katrienair could not discern the difference between dream and reality. She just followed her instincts.
She eased away from him, confused and breathless. It's like some part of her brain had gone numb and all that's happening felt like a movie or a dream.
"You like the wine huh..."She asked Julian who only shook his head, lost in ecstasy. He moved closer to her but she stopped him.
"Are you my Joel?" Julian's eye froze in shock. Did she just say 'my joel'?
He thought he was hearing things so he decided to confirm it.
"What did you say?!"
"Are you...dumb?"She said. "I said..."She seemed to have forgotten what she said. "What did I say?"
He was losing his patience but he just had to remind himself that she was drunk.
"Don't come close."She warned while she laid her head on her pillow.
"Look. I really like Joel."She said, like she was talking to her bosom friend. Julian just stared at her. She looked like a kitten when drunk.
"But he's just so stupid. I wish he'd never leave me...like ever."She stopped, noticing she was the only one speaking.
"Hei, are you listening to me?" She tapped him on his shoulder. He was lost in her eyes and she could not see that. The flood of emotions in his eyes, she was naively blind to.
"Well, I'm a big idiot too. I mean... I've lost... everything. My life sucks..."She cried. Julian held her close in a tight embraced. His familiar scent, his touch all reminded her of what she may have forgotten.
"Joel...Yeah, you're Joel." She whispered.
Julian wanted to speak. He wanted to do so many things but he had to control himself and that included keeping his mouth shut. His demon, who is already in rage can come out anytime.
"Promise me Joel."She cried. "Promise that you'll let this pain go away."
Joel was quiet and she was freaking out.
"Joel..."She called out again already easing away from his hold.
"Joel..."She held up his chin to be sure she's not mistaken.
Joel finally could not take it anymore. He was burning with want within and all she does is tempt him more.
"Katrienair..."He said. "May I...bite you?"
Katrienair, drunk and confused, she didn't know what he meant.
"You're crazy. Will it take my pain away? Tell me..."
His demon came out in an instant. His fangs and nails grew out and his body reformed. His monster grabbed Katrienair's neck and sank his fangs in it.
Before she fell unconscious, all she could manage to say was:
"Don't leave..."
