Roger rose from his sleep in grief. His dream was the most terrifying ever. His heart was troubled. He tried to interpret the dream himself but he could not. He retracted his royal coat from it's stand and walked out to check if the royal spectre was still there. He heaved a sigh of relief on seeing that the spectre, the symbol of peace and unity of the coven, was intact. His dream said the contrary. He knew deep inside that the dream was a message, a warning but he could not place his hands on it. He rarely see visions of the night and when he does, it warns.
He quickly sent for his diviners and socerers. His dream, the king's dream must be interpreted urgent and privately.
The Royal diviners came just in time and he had a close door meeting with them in his private chamber.
"His Majesty, live oh ye forever. Tell thy servant thy dream and we will show you the interpretation." They said.
Roger, a dark expression on his face began to narrate his dream. "Listen carefully. I saw an image. The cross, I mean the Spectre, made of fine gold rooted on the top of a golden castle. The castle was coated in the best of silver and gold like none that have ever existed. " He swallowed."Then a mighty stone fell from the moon, struck the image and broke it into pieces. It's weight crushed the magnificent castle. It's gold, silver, iron, clay, broke into pieces and became like chaff of the summer threshing floors. The wind carried them away till they completely disappeared from the face of the Earth."
He stopped. The diviners began their enchantment while he watched in solemn silence.
"It is a great warning my King."Their leader broke the silence. "A warning indeed."
"Make it known to me."Roger commanded.
"My king, the thoughts that came to your mind while you were upon your bed is the revelation of what shall be in the latter days." He said. "Here is the interpretation thereof; You my king, is a mighty king. You have all power and Dominion in your possession. And you rule over the Earth and your kingdoms. But after all these, another kingdom, smaller and more inferior to you shall arise. It shall wage war against your kingdom and shall win. Your kingship and Dominion will be taken away, your kingdom shall be divided. It can break into pieces and cease to exist. In a one day, all the things that we see now will no longer exist."
He bowed. "These are the interpretations, my Lord."
Roger was sad. How would everything he worked for fade away in one day? Why?
"Your interpretations are deep. What must have been the cause of this and how can we evade this pending disaster?"
"The cause, my king, is not known by any of us but by you. We are just your subjects. You should search your mind. The cause of their warning lies in it. We have to tackle the cause to evade the disaster."He paused. "In history, things happen mostly because of strange bloods and abominations but this warning is very clear. Don't trust too much my king. The inferior kingdom lives in this castle already. We're close to our death. You have to do something very fast."
Strange blood.
Abomination.
Inferior kingdom.
Lives in the castle...
Huh...
Roger was lost in thought.
"We beg to take our leave Milord."
"Aye, go in peace."He replied. As soon as they left the castle he sent for the general of the army. A fat middle aged warrior, the one with a mark beneath his right eye.
"Your Majesty"He bowed. "Your lordship sent for me."
"Kron, have you heard anything from my son and the army head?"
"No, my king. Not at all." He shook his head.
"They should be back by now. Don't you think?"
"They should. Maybe they encountered some delay on the way." He muttered some other things beneath his breathe. The thing is he had never trusted Claudia as the army head, even the fake trip. He knew they've gone for something else.
"What do you think kron?"
"What do you ask my king? I understand not your question."
"What do you think about Claudia and this mysterious journey? Does the legion need more members really? What do you know about the journey?"
"My king"He bowed. "I know nothing about their trip since you permitted them and I'm just a general. The legion is full. It has always been. We have just enough members but commander Claudia must have thought they weren't enough. And she does not give generals like myself the chance to speak." He paused. "The journey, my king is not mysterious. I know they'll be back soon since our crown Prince is with her. Everything will be fine."He said the direct opposite of what he meant. He had to be careful with the words he says, because talking against the crown prince might get him a punishment.
"Are you sure of what you are saying Kron?"
"Don't worry too much my king. The king and our able commander would be back soon. Probably today, since they said four days."
"Forget the prince."Roger hissed. He knew kron was being sarcastic and he understands the reason. "Forget my son. I'm talking about Claudia. The prisoner who became a soldier. What do you think about her?"
"I don't trust her."He said. "She came all of a sudden from nowhere and everyone think she can be trusted. I don't like her. She is suspicious enough. You should not trust too much my king. That lady, she might be powerful but she does not belong here. She might have been marked but we all know that doesn't change her bloodline. She's just a rogue." He paused to examine the king's face. It was bland so he continued. "This journey, I know they'll come back. Prince Julian will bring her back but you need to tame her my king. She's really taking things too far and you might just have one enemy dining with you in your castle."
One enemy...
Claudia...
One enemy...
"Aye Kron, I bless you."Roger said, his mind already made up. "Get your soldiers to go in search of the both of them. I want Claudia alive but captured. You know what I mean. Get her for me before Dawn. But my son must be safe."
