" Is that Alistair, the first princess of the white coven." Israel shrieked on seeing us. Even his guards, wore a surprised look. I took a glance at Alistair. Well, her expression was bland but I could tell she wasn't enjoying the publicity.
Isreal walked up to us as we dismounted from our horse. He bowed to Alistair. She only nodded.
"Oh my goodness Milady, we all thought you were dead."
"I am."Alistair finally spoke. "I mean, for now. You and your guards should keep this as a secret for now. I'm not ready to reveal myself to the public, okay?"
"Okay, Milady"
Wow, Alistair's perfect!

We walked along the aisle, Israel leading the way. He looked less frigid than he was the last time. He was happy, though when he asked for the chosen one, I said I had no idea. He was surprised I could lift the key, I guess that shut him up. He said he had prepared a table for us but we insisted we needed to rest. It's no good time for eating, is it?
He led us to o the rooms he reserved for us. I never expected this kind gesture form him. That same man who barely trusted me , who almost ordered me out of his sight. I was the last to pick a room so I had the chance to thank him personally.
"Thank you Commander."I winked at him. He smiled. Well, some people are never predictable.
"You are the chosen one huh ?"He said. "What else are you hiding from me? I should have earned your trust at least."
I bit my lip. Ethan warned that I don't use my name. Trust no one Katrienair, you've been through a lot already.
"Nothing. Well, we are the chosen ones. Not me"I pointed out.
"Well, we would be leaving tomorrow for war. Prepare your comrades."
"No. You need to prepare your own comrades. We won't be here if we are not prepared." I was about to shut the door when he stopped me.
"Wait!"He said. "How did you find the princess? Who are you to her? "
This princess issue is likely to cause a controversy. I just hope this isn't one big bad decision.
"I need to rest."I slammed the door on his face.

Though the castle would have been cleared up, after so many years, but Alistair still found some evidence of her past. She found a photo frame, of her parents in one of the cupboards in her room. Well, it only moved her to tears. She wished they were here, to see all the good her little sister is doing. To see her in love. She remembered when she asked her parents if she would be paired up with any person they choose when the time for her marriage comes. They both agreed stated that they'd let her choose herself. Her dad promised that when she gets older, he will take her into the city at evenings and allow her associate with commoners. She cried.
"Mom, dad, I found someone now and...I can't handle it. I've lost it." She cried. "You were not there. They did a lot to me. Do you know? Now, I can't handle it..."
" Can't handle what?" She heard a voice that shocked the hell out of her. It was Ethan and he was sitting next to her. She wondered how he got it, then remembered she didn't lock the door. She never does that.
"What?!"She swallowed. "How?... When did you get in?" She forgot she had tears on her face, and the photo frame was still in her hands.
"You were too lost in thought to notice."Alistair looked like she would faint that minute. He heard all she said?!
"Calm down okay? I didn't get what you were saying."He wiped her tears with his thumb. "Cry baby."He jeered. "They are your parents huh?"
Alistair realized she still had the photo, nothing to hide. "Uhm...yeah."She placed it back in the cupboard.
"Ehm Ethan I'm..."She paused. "I'm sorry for hitting you earlier today. I... didn't mean to."
"I know. no need to apologise."He streched a bit on the couch. Too comfortable, always comfortable. "By the way, I'm used to it. "He paused. "Alistair, are you sure you're okay? I know you're not. "
Alistair pursed her lip. She is not okay, that's true. But she can't explain to anyone why she is the way she is. Why did her past have to picked this time to taunt her?! Why?!
"I'm fine. I get pretty emotional sometimes. Besides, we are just getting to know each other so..." He reached out for her hand but she flinched.
He arched his brow in a funny way. Not funny to any of them though. It told her he needed an explanation.
"Ethan."Alistair said. "Don't touch me, ever. Please. Or at least for now."
"You are acting too weird."Ethan winced. "Well, what can't you handle?"
"Personal stuff!"She spat.
"What about what "they" did to you?" He emphasized on the "they".
Alistair's mouth was wife open in shock.
"What else did you hear?"
Ethan laughed. "Sincerely, that's all I heard." His face suddenly turned serious. "Who hurt you? Tell me"
"You snoop!"Alistair shrieked.
"Tell me. Who made you like this?"
Alistair snorted. This is getting harder than she thought. He is the last person she'd talk to about her past. He'll leave her. "Forget it. It's nothing!"She walked away from the couch, ready to leave the room for him but tripped off. The things she had thrown on the floor while searching the room caused her to fall on her face. Ethan rushed to help her up.
"Are you hurt?"
"No thanks."She snorted, embarrassed. " I can help myself."Ethan ignored her. She had a cut on her knee and he focused on it. He held her down with his arm while he cleaned it.
"Let go, this position is not in any way comfortable."Alistair complained. They were both on the floor. She was on his lap, laid like a baby. She can get away from him herself but she didn't want to hurt him. Besides, a part of her enjoyed it. That part would never admit.
"Alistair, "Ethan finally spoke. "Your talk about light and darkness. I think I now understand. I know Light will stay... forever"
Forever....
