After Elian's strike, everything fell silent for a moment. And yet the Guardians survived. By burrowing underground, they created a Celestial Light Shield, and when they emerged — they were shocked.
— His strike sliced the sea… it's gone. And the sky — split in half, one of the Guardians said.
— If he had aimed that blow at Japan, another added, Japan would've been cut in two.
The Guardians stared into the smoke, from where someone was walking out. It was Elian. He had lost an arm. When he unleashed the strike, he momentarily dropped his guard, and all four Guardians simultaneously used the Beam of Light, severing his left arm and sealing the spot, making it impossible for Elian to regenerate it.
The Guardians now had the advantage.
— That attack was useless. You lost your arm for nothing, one of them said.
— I don't care, Elian replied calmly. I want to try something new. Fighting with just one arm.
— You're insane! one of the Guardians shouted. You won't last!
— I don't care, Elian said again, sticking out his tongue and laughing.
He felt a faint presence filming them. Turning his head, he spotted a journalist hiding behind a rock.
— Let's begin, Elian said.
The Guardians charged at him. Elian drew his blade. The Guardians scattered in different directions and unleashed the Judgement Day Beam. Elian smirked:
— All you can do is attack in sync.
The beam was already near. Elian raised his blade. It began to absorb the beam, growing stronger by the second. The beam vanished. It didn't work.
Then the Guardians decided to act individually. All four rushed at Elian, forming the Blade of Dawn. Elian immediately countered with a combination of strikes, crashing it down on them. One of the Guardians activated the Sanctuary Slice, cutting off the path to Elian — but Elian already knew the Guardian's next move.
