Year 1765

Hiding under the table with teary eyes, she held her mouth not making any noises.

Staring at the woman who stood with two other people.

The little girl's green eyes scanned the room as her heart beat rapidly that she could hear her heartbeat.

"Why are you bent on hiding the meri stones Isla"the woman glared at the blonde haired woman who stood not feeling threatened by the other two.

Only thing on her mind was her daughter she hoped to be safe as these witches had come unannounced.

"I will never give you or your coven"she glared at them.

The male witch flared up hating her guts as she had always been like this.

"You bitch"he cursed and hit her face making the younger girl down gasp but quickly held her mouth shaken seeing her mother in trouble but she had promised her mother to stay out of sight.

"Don't Finn"the other witch warned.

"I always knew this day would come"Isla smiled holding her face closer.

"But I will do whatever I can to protect the stones"she glared at them.

Suddenly Finn lost his control and held her by her throat squeezing her throat and she couldn't breath.

Being a strong and powerful witch, she could easily fight them but knowing the witches had planned these for her to use her powers on them so they could locate the stones,Isla was a lot smarter.

"Mantos secardia leprose"she muttered spells under her breath making the witches stunned knowing she had made a self destruction spell.

Finn removed his hold from her neck and both witches were confused.

Isla coughed blood out and she smiled bitterly,

"Why?!"the woman yelled,

Isla soon fell to the ground in much pain and she turned to her daughter and smiled at her which the witches didn't notice.

Muttering something in her face, she coughed more.

The witches watched her as she took her last breath and they looked more angry.

"What do we do now Carol?!"Finn looked stressed knowing they couldn't figure out where the stones were since the owner was dead now and off no use.

"Why did she kill herself?"Carol frowned confused.

"Let's leave,we already searched the whole house,we would inform the upper hand"Carol continued and left the house not caring about the dead witch.

Compared to regular witches,Isla was powerful and her kind didn't turn into dust when dead, she would still remain in her human body or whatever form she died with.

The little girl came out seeing them gone and she cried out holding her mother's hands.

"Mama"tears streamed down her cheeks seeing the dead woman.

A young couple walked in the woods with their younger daughter by their side when suddenly the girl ran forward.

"Beth"the man called after and ran after her with his wife behind.

"Papa"he heard her called.

The little girl stared at a sad little girl who sat outside her house in tears.

The man frowned wondering why a small house was built in the woods and who she was.

He walked to her while her eyes stared up at the taller man.

"What happened child?"he asked,

She didn't reply his words and turned her eyes side ways.

The man frowned and saw the house was opened before entering inside.

Meanwhile his wife had come forward to hold her daughter while maintaining her distance from the little girl.

"Fredrick"she called, knowing well this type of scene was her husbands job since he worked for the council, she didn't want to interfere but she had a weird feeling.

The man soon came out and had an indifferent look with a sigh.

"There is a dead person in there and guessing she is the daughter"he turned to look at the blonde haired girl.

"Mama"she said softly.

Stunned that she spoke, the man bent down to her level.

"What happened?"he asked her, knowing she was a little girl and she had lost her maybe only parent,he frowned upon pity for her but she was the only witness as the woman still laid on the floor.

But the girl didn't respond instead stared at his face.

The man heaved a sigh seeing she wasn't of much help and remained silent.

"What's your name?"he asked softly,

"Della"she replied.

"Where is your father della?"he asked,

"No papa"she shook her head.

He stood up before his eyes turned to his wife,

"I need to inform the magistrate of the town, since she has no other parents, she needs some place to stay,we could-"

"No Fredrick,we are not adopting her"she immediately disagreed holding her daughter closer.

"Why not?she is just a little girl and can't go out to the world alone Edith"

The woman furrowed her brows, she didn't want a strange child staying with her but knowing her husband's persistence.

"She can stay with someone else"she replied, still against della going home with her.

"Edith"the man called,his vocals high a little.

"What?!"the woman walked away from there.

Fredrick turned to della before running after his wife.

"Wait up"

"You can't expect me to accept a strange child from the woods, what if she is cursed?"Edith had lot on her mind against della that she couldn't agree to her husband.

"She isn't,I know how hard it is for a child to grow without a parent,I did and I wouldn't want history repeating itself on her"Fredrick stated,

"Just let her stay with us"he pleaded,

"But she shouldn't come close to me"Edith rolled her eyes.

Fredrick smiled at his wife and hugged her before going back to della.

Frederick stood with a shorter man and a scared Della behind him who looked like she hadn't been this close with people before.

There were two guards along with the magistrate who had come to view the body.

"She would be buried in the cemetery sir,but are you sure you want to adopt the little girl?"the shorter man asked staring at Della who held behind Fredrick.

"Yes"he replied.
