Found The Stones

Della sat in her room reading a book, she was lost in it.

Della had always been very savvy and her quick witted personality had made her admirable.

She knew of her kind when she was younger and kept it a secret, the only person who knew was Fredrick Harrison, her adopted father.

She was always close with the man despite the hostility she got from Beth and her mother Edith.

She was indeed thankful they treated her well, she didn't have a life of misery.

"Lady Della"

A knock on the door followed and della got up and walked to the door.

She opened to see a maid standing outside,

"Master has called for you"the girl informed.

Della nodded with a small smile, she didn't know why her father called for her.

She knocked on the door with a heavy sigh, her green eyes wandering around.

"Come in Della"she heard the reply,

Entering the room she was greeted with her adopted father and mother and also Beth present.

It was her father's study, where he usually works and all his files and work things were kept here.

Fredrick was older, his hair had shades of grey appearing on them and dark shallowed eyes, his face had little wrinkles on them,he had a scruffy beard and a wise appearance.

While Edith, her brown hair was tied, she was old just like her husband but her face wasn't wrinkled much, she held a frown on.

"Father, mother"della bowed her head in greetings.

Fredrick stared at her,his face was indifferent,

"Why are you not going with your sister to the soirée?"he asked,

Della paused, she glanced at her mother and beth who didn't seem too happy.

She did want to go but her mother had forbid her from going, she knew they felt threatened by her which she felt bad about.

She didn't want them being separated as they were her family and took her in,she had always agreed with her adopted mother and never questioned her.

"I don't wish to participate in such events father"she replied,

Fredrick paused glancing over at his wife and daughter before turning his stare back at della.

"Every young lady looks forward to such events,Beth is sixteen now and you are nineteen, both of you need to socialize and get married"

Della didn't have plans on marriage as they never crossed her mind, all she wanted was to find the stones the witches are so interested in.

Fredrick knew about it and helped her in searching for them as the witches created many problems in west hill.

"The soirée is this evening right?"Fredrick asked and got a nod.

"Get ready and go with your sister"Fredrick ordered.

"Yes father"Della obliged.

Her eyes glanced at her mother who glared at her,

"She isn't needed there Fredrick"Edith voiced out,

Fredrick turned to his wife and frowned,

"Why?she is my daughter"Fredrick stated,

"An adopted one!"Beth flared up,

She didn't like how Della always get special treatment from her father when she wasn't even a part of their family.

"That enough both of you,Della leave"he turned to the girl who nodded and left the room.

Della was affected by their words but she never showed it,she would fake a smile to please everyone.

Her mind then wandered to what she would wear, she entered her room and brought out a dress.

It was a dress she had never worn, the gown was red and had a vague outlook.

Della brought out her gloves to match with the gown, she was happy with it knowing she would blend in with the crowds and be unnoticed in such a dress.

Meanwhile Edith who was still upset over the fact her husband favored the wood girl.

"Why did you do that to our daughter Fredrick?"she questioned her husband angrily,

"Edith,Beth and Della are not different and should have a closeness, you shouldn't separate them"he stated the obvious.

Edith rolled her eyes,

"She isn't my daughter and can't be alike to Beth, she doesn't even belong to our caliber"Edith hated the fact her husband wanted Della to be part of their lives.

"Maybe when you learn that Beth has changed, she just goes out and about being rude to everyone and feels higher than everyone, that wasn't how I wanted her to grow"Fredrick sighed,

"She isn't like that Fredrick, you better stop sticking to that girl and support your only child"she rolled her eyes and left the room.

Fredrick stared at his wife silhouette in agony,

she indeed was changing drastically.

"Sire"

"Xavier"Fredrick called the young man,

Xavier held a letter on his hand and he walked up to Fredrick handing him the letter.

Xavier was known in the mansion as a servant boy, meanwhile he had his own secrets which even Della wasn't aware of.

Xavier was a half breed vampire, his eye color wasn't different from a human.

He was a fine young tall lad,his brown hair combed perfectly with a well sculpted face and black eyes.

Xavier was part of the council,he did the undercover works in the council and could get secrets from around.

He worked in Fredrick mansion as an hideout to get the witches, since the main reason for the witches chasing lived here, but he had grown close to Della and developed feelings of his own for her.

People didn't know of Xavier as he never had a name of his in the outside,he liked doing his work like a mouse.

He was usually called the rat amongst the council members who knew of him.

"The stones might just be closer to us than we know indeed sire"he stated with a frown,

"Lord Lucas's mansion?"Fredrick narrowed his eyes seeing the letter that a witch had sent out.

"You think it here, the other places the witches have mentioned I have checked on them sire"Xavier informed,

"We can't get into his mansion on our own accord"Fredrick knew how smart the infamous lord was even though they met just few times.
