Daring The Infamous Lord

One could tell that they were really close as the lord paid her more attention and didn't even bother with anyone.

Lord Lucas was a fine vampire,he had a prideful and exquisite presence that made people wary of him,one could tell he had lot of things running through his head.

The women in the soiree ogled around him which included Beth, many were here because of him.

Della's eyes fell on the most talked lord who was nicknamed hidden lord, cause he never joined gatherings and wasn't seen by people yet had a reputation.

Taking in his features, she noticed how his arched eyebrows fell under his thick black locks of hair, his face spotless and a sharp nose with thin lip, they hung around his perfect sculpted face.

She sat in a corner while taking her drink from the cup slowly, her eyes didn't seem to leave the hidden lord as she felt a more familiar and overwhelming sense around him, like he had something or knew something about her.

"Staring much"she heard the deep voice behind startled, she turned to see sir Oliver.

"I'm sir Oliver"he introduced like he hadn't startled her,

"De...Della"she replied,

"We met the other day"he stated, taking note on how she hadn't used a title to introduce herself.

"Yes"came her short reply,

"How come I never knew Mr Harrison had another daughter?"he questioned staring down at her,

"Maybe you never asked"she replied in a nonchalant way wanting to keep to herself.

"Sure I never did"sir Oliver replied with a small smile,

"See you around Della"he stated making her frown before walking away.

Della frowned before taking another sip from her drink,Oliver seemed off talking to her as she was the most odd here, everyone flattered and got close to lord Lucas, she was seated here alone.

Soon an argument was heard and the guests were all gasping in murmurs.

Della frowned seeing Beth almost in tears, everyone looking down on her.

She was lost in thought and had not notice what had happened,Lord Lucas stood with a frown staring at Beth who was horrified.

She immediately ran to the scene,

"Didn't know the famous councilman had such a nasty daughter"he twitched.

Della frowned upon hearing his words,

"And didn't know the hidden lord wasn't infamous for nothing"Della stated making everyone gasp as she made her way closer to Beth.

They were stunned as no one spoke back to Lord Lucas, she was done for now.

She took note of the eyes that stared at her, most with pity and the rest with fear for her.

Sir Oliver had already inched closer to lord Lucas who seemed to be entertained with the scene.

Lord Lucas lip twitched setting themselves in a thin line, his dark red eyes staring right at Della's soul who was already frightened but chose to stand her ground.

"Didn't know I was infamous"Lord Lucas smirked,

Everyone gasp again as they were liking the tension, but what shocked them was his reply.

Lord Lucas was a daunting and scary vampire, one could easily tell how conniving and yet dominant he was.

Della didn't know how to retort as she knew she had already spoke out of line.

"Is that really true?"he asked the crowd with a bewildered expression.

They were all too scared to answer and fell quiet.

"Seems you are the only honest one here"he says as his eyes stared down at Della making the people frown a little at his words but still frightened to speak.

"Ho...honest"she stuttered feeling shaken,

She had heard about how lord Lucas could be and any seconds from now she would be dead yet here she was standing before this petrifying vampire.

Feeling the fine hair on her neck rise as she was more tensed than ever.

"Yes lady"he drawled wanting to know her name,

He was inches away from her yet she felt his dominant aura close to her.

"De...Della"she stuttered again,

"Lady Delilah"his deep voice called,a name

no one has ever called her.

"It Della"she glared softly at him,

She didn't want anyone calling her Delilah as she had been given the name Della which was a short form of Delilah unknown to many.

"Prefer Delilah"he drawled again, now a bored expression stood on his face.

This time around Della didn't respond, she turned to her sister who still stood faced down.

"Let's go Beth"she said softly stretching her hand out but Beth just pushed her away before running away from there.

Della stood stunned as she stared at Beth

silhouette leaving the room,a frown settled on her face.

"Standing up for someone who doesn't seem to appreciate you"Lord Lucas mocked,

Della turned to him and glare,

"Maybe if you had manners and not rude to women, she wouldn't be this embarrassed"she retorted fearlessly.

Everyone around again gasped hearing her words,

Lord Lucas frowned and walked closer to her,

He bent down before whispering in her ears,

"You seemed to care more about others than yourself".

He turned to lady Aurelia who was rather quiet at all the actions happening since,

"I will see you another time"

She gave him a small nod with a frown on her face.

He walked out from there with Sir Oliver behind.

"Why did you speak to him like that?"lady Aurelia asked getting closer to Della,

Della turned to the woman,

"It alright lady Aurelia"she smiled softly,

"No it not,Lord Lucas doesn't forgive and you seemed to hurt his ego which is really bad"lady Aurelia said fearfully,

"I will be fine, you seemed close to him"Della stated stating at the woman,

"Yes,he is a distant cousin of mine which not everyone knows, and Beth was really rude earlier"Lady Aurelia replied,

The lady had shared such vital information she never did with anyone, she knew from a fact that Della is going to get more involved with Lucas.

"Thank you lady Aurelia for the invite"Della bowed her head before leaving.
