The clinic was quiet and still; except for the occasional coughs and ruffles from certain patients, who were being tended to by staff members. And those who had fallen asleep, slept with peaceful faces, while everyone was watched by the softened glow of the moonlight.
Riku stared at the moonlit forest for an extended period of time. The quietness of his surroundings had brought nothing but empty noise; he could undoubtedly hear his own heart beating in his chest.
Kira shifted in his sleep beside him, since the Red Wolf always preferred to sleep between him and Tazuna; their warmth made him feel safe. The Grey Wolf eventually turned over and grazed Kira's cheek, his snout pressed lightly against the child's soft skin.
Tazuna laid just on the opposite side of Kira. It'd been quite a while since Tazuna opted not to switch back into his true form. He asked himself whether or not if he had the chance to go back in time and start over again, would their situation be any different.
