Samael had just realized that he was merely a fictional character, and that this strange being—the author—was the one controlling his fate. Even worse, creatures called the Gods of the outer world were watching his every move. When Samael discovered this horrifying truth, the author made him an offer: cooperate, put on an entertaining show for the gods, and in return, if the novel was completed, he would no longer be bound to the author and could exist freely.
