Nathan turned around to look at his aunt, whose face was filled with horror. Her face had turned pale and she was undoubtedly shocked by the sudden turn of events- shocked to see Nathan killing five people without any hesitation.
"Aunt," Nathan called softly.
She remained in stunned silence for a few seconds before placing her hands near her mouth. "
Nathan…" she whispered in frightful tone.
"Nathan… you killed them all," she muttered.
"Yes," Nathan replied calmly. "If I had not done it, it would have been you who would have been violated, and I would have been killed."
He continued, "Even when laws, orders, governments, and authorities were in place, the strong preyed on the weak."
"The weak had no choice but to be bullied. And now, with nothing to keep them in check, what do you think our fate would have been?"
"But now, things have changed," he added with a glint in his eyes. "I have power. And I have the means to grow stronger, and I will never, ever bend over again."
Even though Elia understood what Nathan was trying to say, it was still hard for her to come to terms with this new reality. Nathan sensed her reluctance and did not press the matter further.
Technically, Nathan should have extracted the Force Crystal from the Level 1 thug and used his talent of the King of Netherworld class on him.
But he realized that would be too much for his aunt- he did not want her to feel further disgusted and repulsed by the sight of him slitting the man's heart for a crystal. Besides, he knew she wouldn't be comfortable seeing a man who had harassed her, even if he were to be turned into an undead.
Thus, he let it be, took his aunt's hand, and walked out of the building.

"Nathan," Elia asked as they stepped outside, "where are you planning to go?"
"We need a place that is safe- a place that is easy to guard and defend, where these creatures cannot easily get in," he replied. "Some place where we have tall and sturdy boundaries."
"And what place are you thinking of?" Elia pressed.
"Sector 0," Nathan said, surprising Elia. "That area has many formidable buildings and houses."
Indeed, it was surprising for Elia. Didono City had been divided into 13 sectors for administrative and governance purposes, and Sector 0 was at the centre of the city. It housed all the government buildings and the residences of various officials. It was where the elite of the elite lived.
"Nathan," Elia said hesitantly, "don't you think we would be overstepping?"
"Those people have the police at their disposal. They have arms and ammunition at their disposal and thus they would have definitely absorbed quite a few crystals and levelled up."
"And I believe that the army too would have intervened to restore order," she added.
Nathan nodded, "What you say is true, but I have an intuition that things would have not gotten as smoothly as you are saying."
"And I'm not saying I'd do whatever comes to my mind," he added with a reassuring smile. "First, we will carefully assess the situation, and then only will we act."
Elia gave a weak nod. Though she was still uncertain, she decided to trust Nathan.
They walked a few paces ahead when they spotted an abaration running toward them.
"Want to try?" Nathan asked Elia.
She looked hesitant, but she knew that to survive in this world, sooner or later she would have to face such challenges.
Determination appeared in her eyes as she nodded. Nathan pulled out his dagger and handed it to her, then stayed close to protect her should anything go wrong.
Even though both of them- Elia and abaration were at the same level, Nathan believed that a human was probably stronger than an average abaration. The intelligence possessed by an abaration also seemed to be quite limited.
And the number of crystals they had absorbed determined their strength. Nathan had absorbed 10 crystals, Elia 5, and that thug had absorbed 3. Despite the small sample, Nathan felt that Elia was decently talented.
Meanwhile, the abaration had closed the distance and lunged at Elia, its claws swiping toward her face. Elia clearly saw the incoming attack and, although panic flickered across her features, she instinctively slashed the dagger at the creature. The dagger clashed with the abaration's claws, leaving a large gash that oozed dark maroon blood, and the creature howled in pain.
Recovering from her panic, Elia thrust the dagger further, stabbing it into the creature's chest. The creature let out another howl before collapsing to the ground.
"I did it," Elia exclaimed, clenching her fist in excitement.
"Yes, Aunt," Nathan replied with a smile. "Now, take out the crystal."
Elia nodded, bent down, and slit the creature's chest to extract the crystal. Nathan quickly absorbed it—Elia would have taken longer to absorb the crystal, and he needed to ensure he had sufficient strength to deal with any unexpected events.
"We should look for a car," he said. The light had started to fade and he wanted to reach the sector 0 before darkness took over.
They were currently in sector 14 which was located in the outskirts of the city and it would take almost an hour by car to reach sector 0.
