Chapter 47 Date[Part 4]

She'd dated wealthy heirs before and received countless expensive presents, so she wondered what Zhou Yi had in store for her.

Zhou Yi hailed a taxi and brought Wang Yixin to Huaihai's largest shopping mall.

As a sophomore, Wang Yixin had never set foot in a place like this. The moment she stepped out of the car, the towering building left her breathless.

She glanced at the sign—K11—and exclaimed, "Wow!"

So this was the K11 everyone talked about. It was the grandest, most luxurious mall in the city center, filled with high-end brands. Only those with serious wealth dared to bring their partners here.

"Yi-Gege, are you taking me inside to buy a gift?"

"Mm-hmm. Let's go take a look."

Wang Yixin recalled the rumors surrounding Zhou Yi. Could it be that he wasn't just a rich kid—but ultra-wealthy?

She followed him into K11, the cool air conditioning soothing her nerves. Glancing around, she noticed everyone dressed impeccably in designer clothes. She and Zhou Yi stuck out like sore thumbs, especially since he was still wearing his school uniform.

"Yi-Gege, what are you planning to buy for me?"

"The lipstick I smudged off your lips earlier. Go pick one you like."

"I get to choose? No matter how expensive?"

"Mm-hmm. The lipstick counter is right ahead. Go ahead."

Wang Yixin's eyes gleamed.

Chanel, Tom Ford, YSL, Christian Louboutin, Guerlain, Lancôme, Armani, Estée Lauder, Gucci, Dior…

All the dream lipsticks every woman coveted!

Most girls started experimenting with makeup in college. Any girl who wore makeup would recognize these names. Some of these lipsticks cost thousands apiece.

The only luxury lipstick she owned was a Chanel given to her by an ex-boyfriend, which she rarely used. She loved the shade and considered buying another tube but wasn't sure if Zhou Yi would agree—it wasn't exactly cheap.

She fished out her Chanel lipstick from her bag.

"Yi-Gege, look. This brand is pretty good, isn't it? Should we check it out?"

She assumed boys knew little about cosmetics. But Zhou Yi, having pursued affluent goddesses in his past life, was well-versed in these brands.

He strode confidently toward the Chanel counter.

"Hello, we'd like to look at some lipsticks."

The sales associate—a woman in her mid-twenties with flawless makeup—brightened at the sight of Zhou Yi's face. But upon noticing his casual attire, she frowned subtly.

Wang Yixin handed over her Chanel lipstick.

"What shade do you like? Take a look."

Wang Yixin was genuinely surprised that Zhou Yi intended to buy her a Chanel lipstick. Her eyes sparkled as she said to the saleswoman, "Hi, I'd like this exact shade. Do you have it?"

The woman glanced at the lipstick in Wang Yixin's hand and smiled—a smirk laced with condescension.

"Judging by your outfits, you two must still be students, right?"

"Yes, miss."

"Sweetheart, the one you're holding appears to be counterfeit. Are you certain the shade is accurate?"

"What? Counterfeit? That's impossible…"

Wang Yixin stared at the lipstick in her hand, embarrassment washing over her. She couldn't believe it.

"The top pattern on yours lacks smoothness and depth. Genuine ones have crisp, layered designs."

The woman examined the lipstick closely, opening it and inspecting the base and body.

"On authentic products, the inner layer doesn't protrude when closed. On fakes, it does."

"The text on genuine labels is neat and evenly spaced. On fakes, it's uneven and inconsistent."

"The walls of authentic tubes are thick. Fakes are thin."

"The logo engraving on genuine products is bold and deep. On fakes, it's faint and shallow."

"Dear, this is undoubtedly fake—and a particularly low-quality imitation at that."
