She was angry at herself but also at the prophecy she gained. How could she be treated this bad! She also believed her ancestor saw through her and understood what she experienced. The chance he spoke of should be exactly these memories.
Although he said there would be things she had to do to proof herself worthy of that chance, he didn't worry at all. Not because this wasn't a true difficulty or because she had immense confidence, but because her ancestor clearly told her these things were matters of the Upper World.
Because of many opportunities, the female lead was able to rush through the cultivation ranks and finally ascend after only around a thousand years of cultivation! This was a fifth of the lifespan of a Spirit Transformation cultivation, which is the peak of the middle world.
This meant that even with all the opportunities, the female lead took a thousand years to ascend. If she had time to worry about things that will happen after a thousand years, she might as well just cultivate a bit more.
Lingshe closed her eyes, closely following the guidance of the jade crown that acted as an automated teacher when she cultivated. Her meridians were cleared as spiritual power flowed through it, power gathering left of her chest.
She quickly understood the core of the Jade Heart Sutra – it was actually a body-refinement technique. It would create a cycle between her blood heart and the jade heart, the blood heart retains the function of creating blood while the jade heart takes over the function of promoting blood.
Gradually, through this cycle, her body would become full of vitality, she would have jade skin and bones, a strong defensive while becoming more and more flexible. This Jade Heart represented the Nourishment aspect of the three aspects of jade.
This was the technique used in the ancient times by the Yu clan to inject spiritual power into the body. Even mortals could cultivate it, making it the foundation of the Yu clan. As for cultivators, well, for them the jade heart would be even more extraordinary.
Besides everything else, the Jade Heart of a cultivator would gradually infect the blood heart and then both of them would become jade hearts with the ability of producing and promoting blood. The effect would be strengthened even more… but the key point is that the cultivator would have two hearts as a result.
Regardless of the situation, once the blood heart transformed into the jade heart, even if one lost a heart, one could recreate the other heart. Before this stepped is reached, the jade heart will be able to sacrifice itself to defend a fatal attack to the blood heart, although one would lose all cultivation of the Jade Heart this way, they would be able to survive in the end.
As Yu Lingshe cultivated, she slowly felt her body becoming stronger. Beyond the full vitality, she felt as if she was being polished. It hurt a little at first but she gradually became numb to the pain, since it was healing directly after the pain.
Time passed unknowingly, and when she woke up, she saw that she was still in the treasury.
She looked around and saw that the candles were lit. Although the treasury is enclosed, it is still brightly lit since the entrance is facing east. Now that there were candles lit, she was sure it must be late.
Scanning the room, she also saw her grandfather who gradually regained his youth sitting on a chair next to the table, cultivating deeply. His appearance became younger and younger. After all, as a martial artist only in his fifties, he should be able to keep his appearance in the early thirties, even when he neared his life, he should look like he barely became sixty.
The change was somewhat big for Lingshe, but she didn't mind it too much. She had seen portraits of her grandfather of when he was younger – she had to admit, he was like a heroic general that could overturn armies while still giving off the air of a scholar.
As she stood up, she saw her grandfather waking up too. He looked at her, then smiled, stood up and bowed to her. Lingshe didn't dare to accept the bow and quickly dodged, her grandfather didn't mind and said "Yu Clan's Great Elder greets the Ancestor!"
Lingshe was confused at first, but when she heard her grandfather say this, she understood. This was an acknowledgement of her authority. She also knew that everyone with the Yu bloodline, regardless of direct, main or branch family, would instinctively feel awed by her presence.
This was one of the effects of the crown, she didn't comment on her grandfather's greeting but just walked up to him, helping him up.
She said a few things before coming to the table at the entrance. She knew that when she was cultivating, she started the first step of entering the world of cultivation.
There is a large difference in cultivation and martial arts – in fact, martial arts is a branch of physical cultivation, where the first stage is replaced from qi refining to body building. Although the further stages are basically the same, they are all different from spiritual cultivation, the norm cultivation art.
With her entry, she formally became a cultivator. Although the spiritual power is very poor, with the help of the jade crown and the great amounts of jade in the whole treasury, she was able to successfully enter the first stage of qi refining!
She smiled and sat down, her grandfather stood in front of her, protecting her.
This was exactly what she wanted. A moment later, she closed her eyes, viewing the jade bead in her mind. She concentrated and light started shining from it, forming holographic images in front of her. She felt that it was a bit similar to looking at a screen.
'My subconscious must have changed it, now it looks like a system… haha, in my mind, I still feel like I'm a transmigrator that crossed to this world, and this family inheritance is my system!'
The three screens had their respective title above. On the left, there was an [Inheritance] screen. There were two categories in the storage, [Library] on the left and [Storage] on the right. Just from this, it was perceivable that the library contained all the techniques and arts left in the crown, while the other side had a storage space.
She clicked on the storage and saw that it was empty.
At the bottom right corner there was a small note [100 Cubic Metres], from her understanding, this should be the size of the space. It was large to her, containing more space that a cultivator at her stage would be able to have if she was in a cultivation world.
Then, she turned away and clicked on the library.
What opened were more subcategories, [Cultivation Arts], [Techniques], [Spells] and [Literature].
She was surprised about this and checked out Literature first. There were many books and even a search bar, just hovering over the titles, she knew that these were many biographies of her ancestor, as well as other books about materials and such. She even saw a picture symbol – using it, she saw she was able to scan an item and identify it.
