Chapter-144 SunDate

Jay-jay's POV

"...Fried chicken?" I asked.

"Legs!" Yuri answered.

"Same here... Do we still need a flavoring mix?"

"Maybe... Let's get one just in case." He said, grabbing a pack of chicken mix.

We were currently at the supermarket. We decided to just cook at home since going out felt like too much effort. Plus, what if we ran into another group of girls like earlier? No thanks!

We wandered around, looking for anything else we might need.

"Snacks? Should we grab some?" he asked, pointing at the chips section.

"Yeah... Sure, sure..."

We made our way to the junk food aisle and started grabbing whatever we felt like. We probably looked like a couple with the way we were shopping together. Honestly, this was kind of fun.

"This should be enough! Let's head to the cashier!"

Since it was still early, the checkout line wasn't a problem. There weren't many people yet—it even seemed like Yuri and I were the first ones here.

While waiting for the cashier to scan our items, my eyes landed on the 3kg of chicken legs we bought.

Wait, where are we even going to cook this?

I nudged Yuri, who was watching the cashier work.

"Where are we cooking this?" I asked him.

"At my place... We can't do it at yours. Aries and I would just end up fighting."

He had a point. The two of them couldn't be in the same room without tension. Better to avoid the drama and just focus on cooking.

Once the cashier finished, Yuri paid for everything. My only contribution was pointing at what we should buy.

We headed straight to the parking lot, where his car was parked. He placed our bags in the passenger seat.

"Let's go... Time to cook our lunch," he said as he started the car.

The ride was mostly silent, but I kept catching him smiling to himself for no reason.

Is this guy losing it?

"Hey! What's up with you?" I called out.

"Huh?"

"You're smiling to yourself."

"Oh, hahaha... Sorry. I'm just excited."

I frowned. This guy is nuts. What if he actually has a loose screw and I don't even know it? I am not about to marry a crazy person.

We finally arrived at his fancy building. He parked in the basement again. As I stepped out, I glanced at the cars lined up there, suddenly reminded of his cars—the King's cars.

What is he doing right now?

STOP. Don't think about him, Jay! You're with Yuri right now. Focus! This is very wrong.

I quickly got out of the car and reached for the grocery bags, but Yuri snatched them away.

"I got it..."

"Let's split them." I insisted, trying to grab at least one of the bigger bags from him.

"I can carry them all. It's fine." he insisted.

I let it go. No point in arguing with this guy—he's just as stubborn as his friends.

We walked toward the elevator. As soon as the doors closed, something suddenly popped into my mind.

As if on instinct, my hand shot up, and I smacked Yuri hard on the back of his head.

"Ow! What was that for?!" he yelped in surprise.

"You son of a—! I just realized what 'baka' means! I only understood it now!" I said angrily.

I had overheard Calix say that to Felix once, and suddenly, I remembered that Yuri had also called me that before—when I accidentally hit his… well, that—and also when he brought me to his place.

I had asked Calix about it, and he explained what it actually meant.

"W-what?! What do you mean 'baka'?!"

"You called me that before! When it was raining, and we slipped in the mud, and I accidentally hit your... your... ugh, that!" I explained.

He fell silent for a moment, thinking. It looked like he remembered because he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down.

"W-well... uh... I was just in a bad mood that time. Sorry." He forced a smile.

This idiot.

At least now I knew what it meant. So if he ever called me that again, he was really gonna get it from me.

"Baka! Baka! Baka!" I shouted at him.

His face suddenly turned serious. He looked like he was about to lose his temper.

"Jay-jay..." he started. "...Aishiteru."

Huh? What did he just say?!

I immediately raised my fist, ready to punch him. "Are you insulting me?!"

He suddenly burst out laughing. Oh, that's it! This guy has completely lost his mind! I was asking him seriously, and he just laughed at me? There's definitely something wrong with his head.

"I'll teach you a few Japanese words," he said.

"Why?"

"Because when I take you to Japan, you might just randomly start picking fights with people."

He had a point. What if someone was just offering me food, and I ended up yelling at them?

"Fine, fine..."

"Alright... Let's start with greetings," he said, facing me. "Konnichiwa means 'good day.'"

Ohhh... Konnichiwa.

"Konnichiwa..." I repeated.

"Konbanwa means 'good evening.'"

This is easy! I thought it would be hard. I remember Yuri speaking super fast in Japanese before. He was on the phone, talking in what sounded like alien language.

"How do you say 'thank you'?" I asked.

"Arigatou gozaimasu..."

(N/A: 'Gozaimasu' is pronounced as 'gozaimas')

Just then, the elevator doors suddenly opened. I didn't even notice because I was busy trying to repeat what he said—but I completely messed it up.

"What? Aribato... nilamas?!"

Yuri abruptly stopped walking and turned to stare at me. That's when I looked outside the elevator and saw Yuri's maids standing there.

Oh crap. And I said that out loud. Loudly.

They were all staring at me, probably trying to figure out what the hell I had just said. I bit my lower lip and quickly walked up to Yuri, hiding behind him.

So embarrassing!

Yuri cleared his throat slightly, drawing their attention. The maids immediately greeted him.

"Remove your shoes... Let's go to the kitchen," he told me.

I did as he said, keeping my head down as I walked. This was so embarrassing!

I wasn't even paying attention to where we were going until we arrived in their kitchen. It had a modern feel, except for the wooden flooring and the Japanese-style utensils.

"You handle the chicken, and I'll take care of the pasta," he said as he placed our groceries down.

He wanted to cook spaghetti. No one was celebrating a birthday or anything—he just felt like cooking.

He rummaged through a small drawer near him and pulled something out. Then, to my surprise, he walked over and slipped an apron over my head.

"So you won't get dirty," he said.

I just nodded. Seriously? Back at home, I used to cook in just a tank top. Sometimes, I even looked like a rag.

As I prepared the ingredients, I kept repeating the Japanese phrase for "thank you" in my head. I didn't want to mess up again, especially if someone overheard me.

"Ariga-to... Go-go-go..." I muttered.

"Arigatou gozaimasu..." Yuri corrected.

"Arigato Golaymas," I said.

He suddenly burst into loud laughter.

Pffttt... Annoying!

I thought it would be easy, but this was actually hard! So frustrating! I give up—he's just using this as an excuse to make fun of me.

"I give up… You're just laughing at me," I said, irritated.

"It's like this..." he suddenly held my chin and turned my face toward him. "...Follow my lips."

Even though I was confused, I followed along.

"A-ri-ga-tou," he said.

"A-ri-ga-tou," I repeated.

"Go-zai-masu."

"Go-zai—" I never got to finish.

Oh, crap!

His lips were already pressed against mine. The sneaky bastard took advantage of the moment!

And me? Like an idiot, I didn't even stop him. I completely froze, unable to move. Nice!

This guy is unbelievable. Stealing a kiss out of nowhere. And while we were in the middle of cooking, too!

He pulled away slightly and looked at me. Then, he smiled and gently wiped my lips with his thumb.

"I'll teach you again next time. But for now, let's continue cooking," he said, returning to his pasta.

Meanwhile, I stood there like a fool, trying to focus on cooking even though my mind was completely blank. I was still in shock over what just happened.

Even my heartbeat was acting weird. Damn it! What is this? Why am I feeling like this again?

I don't even know how long I stayed like that, but eventually, I finished cooking. Yuri, on the other hand, wasn't done yet. I was starting to get bored.

"Is it going to take much longer?" I asked impatiently.

"Just a little more patience, please," he replied.

As we waited for the spaghetti sauce to finish, Yuri started cleaning up our mess.

I felt guilty, so I helped out. I wiped down the counters and threw away the trash.

While tidying up, I wasn't paying attention to the items around me. Suddenly, I felt a sharp sting on the side of my palm.

"Aahhh..." I gasped, immediately clutching my hand.

I looked down at what I had touched. Damn it! There was a knife right next to me.

Yuri rushed over to help.

"Blood... Tsk!" he muttered.

My whole body started shaking automatically. It felt like I had just been doused in ice-cold water. I could feel the blood slowly flowing from the wound onto my other hand.

Damn it! Not now.

"Hold still... I'll just get—"

"DON'T!" I shouted, stopping him in his tracks. "...Don't! D-don't leave!"

I was gripping my wound tightly. I couldn't look at it—I was too scared. What if… what if it happens again? I squeezed my eyes shut.

"I-I just need to get some supplies..."

"Please... Y-Yuri. Don't leave," I begged.

I heard him tear some paper towels. Slowly, he pressed them against my hand.

Even with my eyes closed, I felt my tears start to fall.

"Ssshhh... It's okay. Don't cry," Yuri said, wiping my tears away. "...It's just a small cut. Nothing serious."

He was right—it was just a small cut. Nothing serious. But I couldn't stop myself from feeling scared.

What if it happens again? What if I lost control and hurt someone?

Right now, he was the only one in front of me. I didn't want to hurt him.

Please, no...

"I-I'm scared... I don't want to hurt you," I whispered.

Yuri fell silent. I knew he was confused.

"O-okay... But why would you hurt me? You're the one who's hurt."

"Please... Y-Yuri. Call Keifer," I pleaded.

I knew it was wrong. So, so wrong. Yuri was right here, but Keifer was the one who knew about my situation.

I knew he wasn't moving.

"I'm here, Jay... W-why do I need to call Keifer?"
