New Life at the Academy

After Aria succeeded in defeating the Death Knight, several instructors were a little surprised by what they saw through the projection screen made from a combination of magic and technology from this world.

They were confused about what Aria was doing, because none of the new first year participants or students could use magic before taking the elemental test later. This incident was the first time in hundreds of years of the Academy's existence.

When Aria opened his eyes, he didn't realize that Aria was currently at Vakenholt Academy. However, the black-robed figure with the appearance of an old man in Aria's room surprised him. He didn't know what happened after defeating the Death Knight, because Aria was currently in the Vakenholt Academy hospital.

Said the figure of a black-robed grandfather who was in the room where Aria was being treated.

Aria tried while sitting, because his body was still weak after the battle at the Academy entrance exam.

"Uh, sorry... Where am I right now?" Aria's expression was a little confused by the current situation.

"Congratulations son! You are now at Vakenholt Academy."

Instantly Aria was surprised by what the grandfather said.

"I... escaped?"

"Did I... really succeed? 

Aria responded with pride and emotion until Aria's tears came out, he couldn't imagine that he could overcome this obstacle. Struggled hard for five years, just to enjoy a comfortable life and avoid poverty.

After the grandfather understood the true situation and stopped the pressure he was putting on Aria, he also provided important information that starting tomorrow Aria could enter the class of first year students at Vakenholt Academy. This made Aria happy and prepared to enter the Academy as soon as possible.

The next day, all the participants who passed the previous exam had officially become first year students of Vakenholt Academy, they all rushed to the Great Hall of the Academy to listen to the headmaster's speech and also other important information. Many of the first-year students who passed the exam came from Noble families, but there were also some from ordinary families and only one student came from the Slum District, that student was Aria Veridian.

Dungeons and Dimensional Gates

The atmosphere in the hall was a little noisy with whispers from the new students, but suddenly an old man came in who was wearing a black robe and had fairly long white hair. That grandfather is the Principal of Vakenholt Academy, Kaelen Darkwood, and that was also the grandfather who came to Aria when he was at the Academy hospital previously.

"Welcome, first year students! Thank you for coming to this great hall. All of you are candidates for great Magicians and Swordsmanship who will protect this world from destruction."

"As you know, once upon a time, this world was very peaceful, but with the appearance of an Ancient Ruin or what we call a Dungeon and a Gate Dimensional, this World was no longer peaceful, and humans were filled with suffering from the destruction of this world."

"Therefore, with young talents like you, and guidance from talented Instructors. You will be able to stop the destruction of this world together."

After listening to the speech, all the students whispered, making the Great Hall a little crowded with what the Head of the Academy said. Some students seemed curious about what Dungeon and Gate were. However, there are also some who feel afraid, because they have been traumatized by the dimensional gate that produces monsters that can destroy entire cities. Aria was also curious about what a Dungeon was and what a Dimensional Gate was. However, when the hall was busy with whispers of new students, suddenly a middle-aged man with black hair and a scratch on the side of his right eye entered the hall.

"Good morning new students of Vakenholt Academy!" his deep voice echoed throughout the great hall.

"My name is Aldreic Cross, and I'm here to teach you the theory about Dungeons and Gates, as well as the levels of Magic and Swordsmanship abilities that exist in this world."

When they heard this, all the students fell silent and the atmosphere in the great hall became silent. All the new students were seriously paying attention to the man who was going to explain the Dungeon and Gate theory.

Then, suddenly Aldreic raised his hand with a slight wave, and suddenly an illusion appeared made from a combination of projection technology and magic. The projection shows a majestic building that looks ancient, then giant pillars, a corridor with mysterious carvings, and a very tall gate.

"What you are seeing is a Dungeon." Aldreic then began to explain what was in the projection.

"This is not just a cave or a place where monsters live. This building is an ancient ruin that holds so many mysteries within it. No one knows who built these places, even in history books, not even kings and emperors know. However, one thing is certain—the architectural structure of this building bears no resemblance to buildings in our world today. This indicates that, perhaps this is an ancient relic or a higher civilization than our world, which has been destroyed by existing monsters. Until now, no one can explain what really happened."

All the students then paid attention to the explanation the instructor gave with great interest in the Dungeon. 

"In this Dungeon there are many puzzles, trap mechanisms, and monsters that guard the dungeon. Many adventurers enter there to hunt monsters and also obtain valuable Artifacts hidden within. You can even sell the results of your hunting, and you can exchange them for money."

Aria, who heard this, was immediately interested and wanted to know more about the Dungeon. Meanwhile, some of the other students didn't seem interested in that, because some of them just wanted to finish the Academy, then inherit what their family had and become the head of the family.

"Hmph… I wonder how big the buildings in the Dungeon are."

With that curiosity, Aria already had his next goal after successfully entering the academy.
