Chapter 6

She seemed to realize that I would no longer be moved by her in the slightest.

I spoke coldly.

"You shouldn't be here."

I continued.

"From the day you got engaged to Mason, there was no longer any possibility between us. Or did you still hope I'd come back to you to rekindle our old flame?"

Her eyes welled with tears, her voice trembling.

"Why not? You and I have been together since high school. We were meant to grow old hand in hand!"

"He's not yours anymore."

A warm voice came from behind. A woman carrying a camera bag walked over, giving me a gentle smile.

"Mike, I'm back."

Seeing her, my face instantly lit up with a smile. I ran over quickly and threw myself into her arms.

"Melody!"

Even though we're married with kids, I still can't shake this straightforward nature of mine.

Unlike those men who, hah, pretend to be reserved and think it makes them mature, I always pour out all my feelings unreservedly to the one I love.
