Chapter 2

The students were panting heavily when they finally could hear the screams and commotion from the outside. James and Alex stood to their feet as they tried to find a way to their classroom. They ran out doing their best not to get lounged at, they're legs were shaking as they moved, their hearts pounding, but they knew they couldn't stop. They couldn't make sense of the situation, but they had to keep moving. As they ran they saw students falling from the school buildings and other students using anything their hands caught to fend for themselves. James decided to run to the back of the school and jump through one of the windows since most of everyone was at the front and the doorway might be blocked and he didn't want to be caught in the commotion or worse bitten. Alex followed cursing repeatedly with himself.

"Shit, shit, shit shit" he said continuously.

James mind was over flowing with questions and they were all left unanswered. He wanted to know where his sister was, what was she doing, was she hurt, is she being attacked, was she in the house and he wondered the same thing about his mother too, but he couldn't stop to have a throughout thought, he had to get to his classroom and then calm down. The screams and running of foot steps continued as they wasted no time running up the stairs. As they made a turn it was fill with the students with blood shot eyes and black-purple veins. As James made a encounterment he was frightened as he dropped to the floor, he couldn't think anymore as his body went cold, but without thinking he started moving his arms and legs, running backwards with them, with each movement the infected got closer gashing their teeth at him, releasing screeching horrified sounds as blood pattered the floor beneath them. Alex seeing James was down started looking around and didn't see anything he could use as a weapon. He then abundant James and ran the way he came from, James didn't even realized this. Alex ran back down the passsge way where he saw a fire extinguisher but it had a lock on it. Hastily looking around he saw a chair and then with all his might he used the chair to hit the lock off and took the extinguisher out and ran back to James. James still hasn't got up to his feet yet and then Alex came beside him covering the students in white foam. He then took James arm, helping him to his feet and ran to the next stair way. Using the fire extinguisher to their advantage they ran up the stairs and fortunately for them there was less infected there.

When the students in the classroom heard noise approaching they suggested to close the door, but none of them moved, only stepping from the door. Within a minute a handful of students came crashing into the classroom landing on the floor and immediately started moving on their knees and hands to get to the end of the classroom from the door.

" Close the door quickly!" A student said as she backed to the end of the classroom. Felix then rushed to the door and as he was closing the door he heard someone.

"Wait!" A masculine voice shouted.

Felix poked his head out where he saw two of his classmates running towards him and a bunch of students hot on their trail.

" Run! " Felix shouted never expecting there would be a time where he would be loud.

Alex could feel the extinguisher weighing him down, he was carrying it to defend against the infected students, but since he was close now he spun around and threw the extinguisher as it knocked down a few infected and a few others stumbled crashing together. Both boys ran to the door and as they were only a few feet's away an infected appeared in the opposite direction, running violently towards them, hearing the sound Felix swiftly spun his head in the direction, spraining his neck as he pulled his head back.

As the student coated in blood charged forward it was then knocked down and slammed into the wall by a boy behind carrying a baseball bat, accompied by another boy and girl. They all entered the classroom which was immediately shut by Felix. They all stepped from the door as they breathed heavily, some shaking and others unable to react stood in shock. Suddenly there was a bang on the door that made everyone jumped in their skins and then another bang and then another, then a voice followed.

" Open the door please" someone said from behind the door.

" Don't open it" a student said immediately.

" What!? It's our classmate we can't leave him out there to those things" another snapped before approaching the door. Some of the students rushed to stop him and a bloody hand pried through the door freezing the students in place.

"They're getting in" a female student muttered shakily.

" Block the door!" The student with the baseball bat barked and everyone rushed pushing the chairs and tables to the door. Felix took up a chair and pushed the hand that was reaching in out before pushing one of the chairs legs into the door handle and then they went back to the wall of the classroom. They could hear the terrifying sounds outside as they waited in silence. There were students from multiple classes in the room as everyone simply rushed to a room for safety. Soon a girl in a skirt and bra lifted her hand shaking towards Felix.

"He's bleeding" she stuttered. Everyone eyes looked to where the girls was pointing and saw a trail of blood on Felix's arm. Everyone who was close by Felix scattered as they saw the blood on his arm. Felix looked at his arm and there was indeed bleeding, but he was sure he wasn't bitten it must have been when he help Ben by the window few minutes ago.

" He's bitten, he's going to get sick, we have to throw him out" she said with a shaky voice.

" I wasn't bitten" Felix responded to his defense.

"Yes you were!" The girl countered in a trembling shout.

" That's for us to decide" Ben stepped in Felix's defense. " This is our class"

" He's going to get sick" the girl shouted out again and then a bang followed from behind the door making everyone jump.

" I wasn't bitten, I scratched it by the window earlier" Felix said as everyone was looking at him frightened.

"Of course you would say that" the girl lashed out again and more bangs pounded at the door again.

Ben then took Felix's arm examining it and saw he was probably scrapped by the window when he helped him earlier. He then lifted Felix's arm showing and telling everyone that he wasn't bitten.

" If anyone leaving it should be you, the principal said everyone should report to their classes as this isn't your class, therefore you have nothing to say here" Ben responded.

The girl then retreated to wall and then after a few seconds she stumbled backwards causing a boy to fall along with her. The girl pointed her finger once more at a female student who was crunched in the corner. They followed her hand again and there they saw a girl in the corner covered in blood and holding her jaw. The girl who was pointing screamed.

" She going to be sick" she said threw tears now. The girl in the corner Terry didn't even move nor did any of her friends came to her defense except one.

" Didn't you hear what Ben just said, this isn't your class therefore you have nothing to say" the girl name Ava said standing in front of her friend. Everyone stayed silent. When Terry vomited violently, the class fell silent as they watched in fear stiffly.

" See she's getting sick. Throw her out" she said her voice in a loud panic.

"What do you want us to do, throw her through the window" a boy stuttered with a shaky voice.

"Yes!" Everyone looked at the girl taken about by her right away straightforward response, but no one said anything. The room was quiet and no one took a step to do anything. Ava was still standing in front of Terry when she suddenly shifted and everyone who say retreated closer to the wall away from them.

Terry slowly stood up with a faint growl, Ava slowly turned around and before she could get a proper look at her friend she was leaped at. Ava tried pushing her friend back as she stumbled backwards and everyone scattered from them.

" Terry wait-, it's me " Ava said pleadingly. Ava was pushed to the window as she was begging in tears for help. Terry then bit done on Ava's collar bone as she wailed in pain. The girl who pointed at Felix a moment ago rushed over and pushed the infected student out, causing Ava to fall out along with her. Ava screamed before her voice was silenced by a loud thud as she met the ground. The students rushed to the windows as they saw their classmates lifeless body laying on the concrete floor in an inhumane position surrounded in blood. The infected student was over her ripping the flesh from her body. The students moved from the window not being able to bear the sight. The girl who pushed both girls out stood as everyone looked at her.

"You killed her" someone muttered

"How could you?" another questioned

" You murderer" Ben pointed making his way over to her. A girl in her underwear and school shirt stood in front of her.

" She had no choice. She was sick and the other one would have been too and then everyone would have gotten sick" the girl said facing Ben making her voice audible to everyone. Ben could understand what she was saying and even though he haven't fully grasped the situation he knew there was sense to what both girls were saying but still he couldn't accept how she simply pushed both his classmates out the window. Killing one who wasn't even sick.
