Chapter 11

She even went so far as to provoke my fiancé.

This time, she really crossed the line.

I ignored her for days.

She didn't even come to find me, which made me angry.

I directly canceled her competition eligibility, waiting for her to come and beg me.

If only she would come to me.

I would hold her and kiss her, just like before.

We would be like we used to be.

When the finals came, I waited at the entrance for Melody to arrive.

But when Melody learned she couldn't compete,

She was unusually calm.

It had never been like this before. Melody used to cry and fuss in my arms.

I loved it most when she cried for me.

I was somewhat irritated.

I didn't understand what her mom meant by saying she couldn't compete anymore.

I pulled her into my arms.

But she still seemed indifferent.

I panicked a little, wondering if she no longer cared about me.

She didn't even care that I had smashed the chess piece necklace she gave me.

But I was wrong.

Melody really couldn't compete anymore.
