Chapter 12: You Know Such Difficult Magic?

Chapter 12: You Know Such Difficult Magic?

As he got on board.

Neville's face was tense, his hands were clutched on the armrests, and he did not dare approach the edge of the boat.

Two more freshmen got onto the boat.

Seated were four people, nobody was rowing, but the boat continued by itself.

Dylan glanced downward.

He saw a huge squid with two suckers strongly attached at the bottom of the boat.

The squid swam silently underwater, leading the boat forward, under the cliff, and through a veil of ivy.

Finally, the boat slowed to a gentle stop.

The squid plunged straight into the bottom of the lake and disappeared.

"I imagine this kind of squid would be tasty if it was sliced up and fried."

Dylan licked his lips twice.

Neville shivered as he got off and ran from the pier to the land.

"Phew."

Neville breathed a sigh of relief.

Dylan passed by at this time and reminded him, "Don't run so fast, be careful to leave things on the boat."

"Huh?" Neville suddenly stopped.

He stretched out his hands quickly to feel his arms and pockets.

He didn't seem to find what he was looking for, and his eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh no! My Trevor is gone again!"

"What? Again?"

Dylan's eyebrow rose.

He only remembered that Neville had lost his toad once when he got on the train.

Hermione would help him look around, so he went over to Harry and Ron.

He had wondered at the time why Hermione hadn't come to his compartment looking for the toad. Now it seemed he had met it halfway.

However.

"I remember I didn't see any toads or other animals on you just now, so did you lose your Trevor again when you got off the train?"

Dylan mastered the Parasitic Possession Curse, so he could sense the aura of foreign life forms to some extent.

Along the way, though he did not deliberately look, now that he came to think of it, he did not seem to sense a second life form other than Neville.

Neville was nervous to the point that small droplets of sweat appeared on his forehead.

He scratched the back of his head and tried as hard as he could to remember any useful clues.

Dylan continued, "It might have fallen on the road, or it might have been on the train. I would prefer it was the latter."

For, now he thought carefully, it seemed that the small fat man in front of him was Neville.

And he did not see any toads along the way.

"If it's on the train, the house elves will bring it back to the school."

"But." Neville stuttered.

"No buts. Even if it dropped in the middle of the journey, we can't go back to look for it now. We can only go back tomorrow."

"Is that the only way." Neville said with a sorrowful face, "I heard Hogwarts is full of dangers. I'm afraid something will happen to Trevor."

Looking at the face of the little fat boy.

Dylan was also rather powerless.

"How about this, I'll try the Summoning Charm. If it's nearby, I can summon it. But if you really left it on the train or halfway, there's nothing I can do."

"What? Dylan, you know the Summoning Charm?"

Neville was shocked at first, then his face lit up with joy, "Then I'll have to trouble you!"

"Don't get your hopes up."

Dylan waved the wand in his hand.

"Accio Trevor!"

Magic surged out from the wand.

It sped precisely to a boat.

"Whoosh!"

A really fat-looking toad popped out of it.

Dylan ceased the magic before the other side approached him.

"Croak~"

Trevor dropped onto the floor and croaked.

Neville hastily went over and picked Trevor up from the ground.

His eyes welled up with tears.

"Gosh, Dylan, you're a genius! You know such difficult magic. Thanks so much! I reckon Trevor must have fallen halfway and come after me all the way!"

Neville sniffed.

Many of the little wizards had already departed.

Dylan shook his head, "Alright, come on. We'll be left behind if we don't go."

He walked ahead and proceeded, and Neville immediately followed him.

He also nodded towards the fat toad in his arms.

"Don't run around next time!"

"Croak~"

Dylan gazed at the toad.

It was ugly, plump.

Why would anyone get a toad as a pet?

Was it to raise and then kill it to harvest the magic material on its body?

"My little Umbra is still handsome."

Although it was an unlucky black cat that mooed, so what?

Wasn't Professor McGonagall a cat after she transfigured?

Rolling it round, Coal Ball was Professor McGonagall!

In addition, Umbra wasn't a real cat. Umbra was a species!

After Dylan and Neville joined up with the group.

The group walked through a cobblestone path.

Then they came to a gate.

"Bang bang!"

Hagrid knocked on the door repeatedly, making a very loud noise.

Presently, the door was opened from the inside by somebody. It was Professor McGonagall.

She was wearing an emerald green robe with rich colors, smooth texture, natural folds, and iron gray hair combed back tightly into a neat bun without any mess.

She looked at the group of small wizards outside the door with a serious face and piercing eyes. She was also wearing a pointed hat with the magic school symbol.

Professor McGonagall now appeared very difficult to get along with, a complete contrast to the warm personality she displayed when she took him around Diagon Alley.

"Professor McGonagall, here are all the first-year freshmen." Hagrid's voice thundered.

"Thank you, Hagrid. Leave them to me." Professor McGonagall nodded.

She opened the door a bit further.

After Hagrid came in, she led the first-year freshmen into the hall.

"Follow me."

Dylan was among the crowd, and Neville and he were almost at the rear.

As the people ahead moved through, he looked inside Hogwarts.

There were many reliefs along the sides of the path on the ancient walls.

These reliefs contained basins of fire and emitted light.

Dylan noticed that these reliefs were the representative animals of the four houses, and each of them had wings on their backs.

They looked so real, as if they were guarding the freshmen.

"Interesting!"

Entering Hogwarts, there was a sense of the weight of the years that hit him.

"This is even more thrilling than viewing 3D!"

He could not quite remember what 3D version he viewed then, but at the beginning, there were some Dementors floating around. He was still a kid then, and those Dementors scared him a lot.

"Inside is the hall. Dinner will be served soon. Before that, we need to welcome you young witches and wizards to Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall led them to the front of the hall and stood facing them, "Before your official enrollment, you need to go through the Sorting Ceremony."
