Chapter 22: Hagrid's Inside Recommendation
"..."
Dylan didn't comment on the children's words.
If asking a teacher questions was considered brave, then Harry and the others weren't wrong.
"Hopefully, Professor Snape will be in his office this weekend."
After returning to the common room in the evening, he still needed to find time to organize his questions about Potions.
Therefore, he planned to bother Snape on the weekend.
As for the afternoon, he had other things to do.
He left the classroom with Harry and Ron.
His gaze fell on Harry.
"Are you ready to go now?"
During breakfast, he and Harry had agreed to go to Hagrid's hut together after class.
As soon as he finished speaking, Harry's stomach rumbled.
"Uh, I plan to go after eating."
Harry was exhausted from today's Potions class and was eager to put something in his mouth.
"Okay, you seem very hungry." Dylan nodded.
Harry looked helpless. "God knows what it feels like to be stared at by Professor Snape all day. My back has been straight all day."
Dylan smiled and went to the Great Hall with Ron and Harry.
After eating.
Harry was more energetic, and Ron was completely revived.
When they heard that Dylan was going to find Hagrid, they insisted on going with him.
Dylan naturally had no objections.
They left Hogwarts Castle and headed towards Hagrid's hut.
"Hey, big guy, we're here to see you!"
Before they reached the door, Ron shouted.
"Oh, it's you little wizards."
Hagrid warmly welcomed them into his hut when he saw Harry.
"Have you eaten? I have some rock cakes here, they're delicious, you should try some."
Hagrid brought a plate of rock-like cakes from the table.
"We've eaten, but we can have some dessert."
Ron was the first to pick up a rock cake and put it in his mouth.
"Crunch."
Hiss!
Ron's eyes widened.
He felt like his teeth were about to break!
"Why is this cake so hard?"
Harry also curiously picked up a piece, but couldn't eat a bite after trying for a long time, only managing to get some crumbs.
"My goodness, was this cake made with a hardening charm? I want to learn the Severing Charm right now!" Ron exclaimed.
Dylan had learned the spell, but wasn't proficient, only having a basic understanding.
Facing the cakes on the table, Dylan didn't move.
Therefore, he didn't have to deal with a cake that he couldn't eat, and didn't have to cover it in saliva, and then think about using the Severing Charm.
"Sorry, I thought they were quite chewy."
Hagrid scratched his head and suddenly remembered that these cakes were not something ordinary wizards could eat.
"If you really can't eat them, let Fang eat them. Although magic can heal injuries, breaking your teeth isn't worth it."
Harry immediately threw the cake to Fang.
Ron still wanted to fight with the rock cake.
Fang ate Harry's rock cake.
Then wagged its tail like a whip and ran to Dylan.
Dylan just patted its big head.
Fang, seeing there was nothing to eat, ran to Ron.
It ran back and forth between them, its tongue hanging out, panting heavily, making huffing noises.
Its thick limbs moved in an uncoordinated way, and it would occasionally bump into the sofa they were sitting on because it was running too fast.
Ron finally gave up fighting with the rock cake and secretly gave it to Fang.
Hagrid poured some water for them, turned around, and saw Fang's behavior.
He laughed loudly, "It seems Fang likes you. You can play with him more."
After handing the water to them.
Dylan thanked him.
Hagrid also sat down, took a deep breath, and looked at Ron with some emotion.
"I'm really glad to see you getting along with Fang. It reminds me of your brother Charlie. He treats magical creatures much better than other wizards."
Ron blinked, "What about Fred and George?"
Hagrid's face immediately wrinkled. "Don't mention those two mischievous guys!"
After Fang finished eating the cake, Harry started playing with him.
Dylan took the opportunity to say to Hagrid, "Sir, I have something to ask you."
Hagrid was surprised and turned to look at him.
He had heard Professor McGonagall mention Dylan several times.
He was a very intelligent little wizard, and it was said that even Snape was annoyed by him in the morning.
It was the first time he had seen a little wizard who could handle Snape!
Now this little wizard was asking him for a favor.
Was he asking about magical creatures?
Hagrid thought, maybe he could act like a professor for a while, and sat up straighter.
"Go ahead."
Dylan smiled. "I really like magical creatures, so after thinking about it for a long time, I want to keep a Kneazle as a pet."
"But I heard that I need a license to keep one, so I was wondering if you could write me a letter of recommendation?"
Hagrid raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Kneazle? They are indeed cute little creatures. You have good taste."
He thought for a moment and nodded. "No problem. I'll write a recommendation letter later and send it to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. With my recommendation, they'll approve it quickly."
"Thank you! My name is Dylan Hawkwood."
"I know your name. A very smart little wizard who takes up a lot of the professors' after-class time, haha~"
Hagrid laughed loudly.
Hearing this, Dylan just pursed his lips and smiled slightly.
"So, Dylan, you came to Hagrid because you want to keep a magical creature?"
Fang ran to Dylan, and Harry also looked over, "I don't even know what a Kneazle is."
"It's a creature that looks a bit like a black cat."
Dylan thought of his little soot ball's cold eyes and added, "Very cute."
Harry nodded without hesitation.
Hagrid didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with a Kneazle having a cold face.
He was about to say something, but Harry asked him, "During Potions class today, I felt like Professor Snape really didn't like me."
Hagrid's eyes flickered, and he stopped smiling.
"Oh, him. Professor Snape is just like that, he doesn't have a good face for anyone—except for Professor Dumbledore."
Dylan noticed Hagrid's emotional change, as if he was deliberately avoiding talking about Snape with Harry.
Of course, he wouldn't interrupt at this time, after all, he was still counting on him to write the recommendation letter.
