Chapter 23: What Are Your Thoughts on the Gringotts Attack?
"By the way, Hagrid."
Harry turned to Hagrid and asked, "I heard Malfoy and the others say that Gringotts was broken into, and it was on the same day we went to Diagon Alley to buy supplies."
Hagrid became even more evasive.
Seeing this, Dylan stood up.
"It's getting late, we should head back. I think Hagrid is about to patrol the Forbidden Forest."
Hagrid was taken aback, then nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I have to take a round in the Forbidden Forest."
Harry paused, then stood up, "Alright, we'll head back then."
Hagrid left the house with them and, after seeing them off, turned towards the Forbidden Forest.
Harry seemed preoccupied all the way back.
Dylan didn't quite remember the Gringotts attack.
"Is it the Philosopher's Stone?"
He vaguely remembered that the Philosopher's Stone was initially locked in Gringotts.
The sudden attack on Gringotts, especially on the day Harry went to Diagon Alley, probably meant that Hagrid had taken the stone out, someone had their eye on it, and that's why they acted.
After figuring out the simple logic, Dylan didn't react much.
Whether it was the Philosopher's Stone or not, Voldemort would eventually be defeated, right?
He didn't really care about these things.
He had only just heard about the Gringotts attack from Harry.
"Malfoy really loves Harry, he tells him everything."
He chuckled to himself and shook his head.
In fact, he thought that instead of trying to participate in the plot, he should learn more spells and try to level them up.
"Voldemort's dark spell level probably isn't as high as mine."
Dylan was lost in thought.
Harry suddenly spoke, "Dylan, why do you think someone would attack Gringotts?"
Dylan blinked, "Because Gringotts is easy to bully?"
"Huh?" Harry was stunned.
Dylan smiled, "Why else? Isn't Gringotts' most valuable thing the money and treasure inside?"
"It's like robbing a bank. The robbers are after the wealth, what else could they be after?"
"If they just wanted to kidnap someone, why not grab someone off the street? Why rob a bank?"
"And most importantly, robbing a bank might involve kidnapping people, but robbing Gringotts... are the robbers interested in those ugly goblins?"
Harry pursed his lips, his eyes blank, "You make a point, but..."
"Hagrid said Gringotts is the safest place, so aren't you afraid that Hogwarts might be attacked by those mysterious people?"
"Afraid?" Dylan looked strange.
By Voldemort, even if that noseless guy came in person.
If he ambushed him properly, a set of Cruciatus Curse, Dementor's Kiss, Fiendfyre, and Avada Kedavra... it wasn't impossible to kill him.
After he researched the Severing Charm, Sectumsempra, and Bombarda...
Who should be afraid of whom wasn't certain.
"Huh? Wait a minute!"
Suddenly, Dylan realized something was wrong.
"Didn't I come to Hogwarts to learn how to turtle up?"
How did his spell learning direction suddenly go off track...
"Dylan? Are you okay?" Harry asked.
Dylan snapped out of it and shook his head, "It's nothing, I just thought of something about studying."
Ron looked shocked.
How could you zone out thinking about studying while walking and chatting?
Was this what his brother often called a natural study genius?!
Returning to the previous topic, Dylan said, "There's nothing to be afraid of."
"Oh?" Harry looked at him.
Dylan said casually, "I don't have any money there anyway, even if it's robbed clean, I won't lose anything."
"...Uh?" A question mark popped up on Harry's forehead.
What do you mean by depositing money?
He was asking if the wizarding world was too unsafe since even Gringotts was attacked, and if Hogwarts might be attacked by those mysterious people.
This had nothing to do with whether he deposited money in Gringotts!
"Wait, maybe it does!"
Harry suddenly remembered that his parents had deposited a lot of money for him at Gringotts.
His eyes widened.
Gringotts couldn't be robbed clean!
They returned to the dormitory.
Dylan tidied up a bit and started organizing his class notes.
He wrote down the questions he wanted to ask Professor Snape on the weekend.
Then he read for a while, and after dark, he washed up and went to bed.
He couldn't use Scourgify every day.
Dylan found that always using magic to clean made him feel like it wasn't very clean.
Brushing his teeth with a toothbrush felt more real and reassuring.
He woke up.
Since he went to bed early, Dylan woke up early.
On Saturday morning, the campus was quiet.
Almost half of the students were still asleep.
Dylan walked along the empty path towards the Great Hall.
After breakfast, he went to the Owlery to see Luna.
The little guy was very energetic, his snow-white fur shining.
He had recently exchanged several letters with his family.
He basically told his parents that he was doing well here and was very fulfilled.
And he didn't have to live in the basement anymore.
Although it was a five-person dormitory.
At least he didn't have to live in the basement anymore.
At the same time, he sent his parents some money and told them to buy stocks.
It was 1991, and apart from the wizarding world, the Muggle world was basically the same as history.
He checked, and this world also had American Express, OPhone, Walmart, and other companies.
He told his father to invest all the money in the stock market of these companies.
Fortunately, he had recently completed achievements and accumulated a considerable amount of money.
Including the money his parents gave him earlier, he exchanged it all into pounds and sent it to his parents.
As for the reason, it was simple—
"Dad, I've met many magic professors at school, they're all amazing! Did you see the money I sent you? If you invest as I told you, we won't lose money."
This was actually two pieces of information.
But combined, it would make the reader think it was one sentence.
His parents did think, as he expected, that the information about which stocks to buy was told to him by Hogwarts magic professors.
In short, Dylan didn't answer any of these questions.
Wasn't this considered lying?
"Well, how can this be considered lying?"
He glanced at the time.
Dylan realized it was almost time for the professors to go to work.
Although he didn't know if Professor Snape was in his office yet, he had mentioned it to him after class yesterday, and the professor should be waiting for him.
