Chapter 7.

The man under the covers stirred slightly, then grunted vaguely, with a strong air of bedlam, "Don't."Ellis didn't move, still staring at him as if pondering what method to use to get him up.

The demon on the bed was silent for a moment, sensing that he was still standing next to him, and finally reached out impatiently to pull down a corner of the covers, revealing a weary face.Scarlet eyes were half-open, with a hint of lethargy and wariness.

"Ellis."His voice carried the low rasp of a newly awakened man, his tone full of reluctance, "Do you get up this early every day?"

"Yes."Ellis trailed off, "You should get used to it too.

Nyx stared at him, his eyes growing dead, "I won't get used to it."

Without another word, Ellis simply reached out and grabbed the corner of the quilt, easily lifting the entire quilt up.

Nyx was violently surrounded by cold air and instantly sat up in an explosion, glaring at Ellis with a pair of scarlet eyes, "What are you doing?"

"Getting you up."Ellis looked at him with a godly expression.

Nyx took a deep breath, feeling the need to reassess Ellis's level of 'gentleness' - this man was anything but gentle!

He grunted and jumped out of bed with an irritated look on his face, casually grabbing his outer robes and putting them on, casually fixing his hair and muttering, "No one in the Abyss dares to wake me up like that ..."

Ellis glanced at him, his tone unhurried, "This isn't the Abyss."

Nyx stated that he would never get used to this rude no sense of boundaries behavior, all evil humans, good, you do know how to fight demons!

Nyx donned his outer robes with a reluctant face, his entire being carrying a just-woken lethargy and resentment. He casually ruffled his slightly disheveled black hair, his scarlet eyes showing some impatience, and muttered in a low voice, "Do you toss yourself this early every day? It's not good for your health."

Ellis glanced at him and said faintly, "Getting used to it."

Nyx yawned and leaned casually against the wall, his eyes drifting to the light of day outside the window, his tone tinged with a bit of confusion, "... So what do I do when I get up?"

"Wash up, then eat breakfast."Ellis said matter of factly.

Nyx frowned slightly, "You made me get up just to eat breakfast?"

Ellis spoke in a calm tone, "Or else what?"

Nyx: "..."

It seemed like he wouldn't get screwed by this guy again.

Nyx didn't have much of an appetite, especially for human breakfast, but since Ellis had gotten him up, he didn't bother going back to sleep, so he could only shuffle slowly towards the washroom.

Ellis was already seated at the table, flipping open a book and casually taking a sip of his tea, with no intention of supervising him at all.

Nyx glanced at him and muttered, "What a cold, uncaring fellow."After washing up, he was finally forced to sit at the table. The table was set with a fine, light breakfast of warm bread, eggs, and a glass of milk, which seemed very "human".Nyx stared at the glass of milk for half a second before finally pushing it aside without hesitation, "I'm not drinking that."

Ellis didn't look up and said lightly, "You can't survive by preying on emotions every day."

Nyx propped his chin up and smiled slowly, "What do you think I've survived on?"

Ellis finally lifted his eyes to look at him.

Nyx blinked, a bit of mischievousness in his eyes, "Besides, I don't eat these even if I have to."

He casually picked up a piece of bread and lazily twirled his fingertips before finally placing it back on his plate.

Ellis, however, didn't argue, but looked back to his book and said lightly, "Suit yourself."

Nyx froze slightly.

He had expected Ellis to insist that he eat breakfast, after all, this guy seemed to be a person with extreme regularity in his habits, but it turned out that the other party actually let him off the hook so easily?

He propped up his cheeks and stared at Ellis for a moment, feeling something vaguely strange in his heart.

He had originally thought that this Contractor would be a stubborn and uninteresting human, but it turned out that although Ellis was strict, he didn't seem to want to force him to become a "good citizen"...
