CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

"Sis Sharlene is here?" She asked Vivianne in surprise.

"Yes." Vivianne's answer to her question was direct.

She even sighed. "Visit her there first; she might not be resting anymore." She even mentioned the idea over the phone.

Tashia just nodded at the suggestion of the person on the other line. She awoke early today, plagued by troublesome memories from her past. Besides, she is worried about someone.

Let's go visit Sis Sharlene there first. She could only say it in her mind. Having spoken to Vivianne on the other line, she quickly dressed. She left her companion behind.

The house they were waiting for was conveniently located near her grandmother's mansion. In ten minutes, she would arrive. Since it was still very early, the surroundings were very quiet, and she didn't see any people on the road. She just needs to hurry, or she might miss Sharlene at the mansion.

She managed to get there right away; she was already in front of the gate, letting out a breath. She saw that there was someone there, her brow furrowed, and she peered at them.

"Tashia, right?" Someone suddenly appeared behind her.

Tashia jumped in surprise and quickly looked to see who had spoken. Immediately, Lawrence's face appeared.

"Sorry if I scared you… Are you okay?" This is what he asked her.

Tashia quickly retracted her surprise; she was gathering her thoughts.

"I'm okay; sorry if my reaction was like that." She was asking for forgiveness.

Lawrence gave her a half-hearted smile.

He's a nice man. Comment in her mind.

"D—Do you have a key?" she asked him.

"Ah, don't worry, maybe Sharlene is already awake. I'll just call her," Lawrence explained to her.

She just nodded. She looked at it intently while dialing his sister's number on its phone. She was just listening to the conversation then.

Maybe he has a crush on Sister Sharlene. Tashia kept her thoughts to herself.

"Ah, you're already here, Lawrence. Sorry about that." She heard Sharlene's apology as she opened the gate, wearing a jacket because the weather was cold and the sun had just begun to rise.

"No, it's fine. How did you sleep"? The man asked Sharlene how she was doing.

"I just woke up; my head really hurts. If you hadn't called, I might still be asleep." Sharlene just told Lawrence that she was still listening to their conversation quietly.

"Oh, I'm sorry for that."

Sharlene chuckled softly. Tashia notices that Sharlene is comfortable talking to him; she secretly smiles at her.

"Enter and make yourself comfortable." Sharlene couldn't help but say.

She didn't disturb the two, who were secretly smiling.

"Tashia, come here," Lawrence called out to her.

"Tashia---?" Sharlene asked, immediately turning to her.

"Tashia?" Sharlene asked her in surprise.

She just smiled at Sharlene. "W—What are you doing here?" she asked her.

She couldn't help but laugh at the reaction of the person in front of her today.

Sharlene frowned at her. "Wait, I thought you were busy studying! Why are you here at Mateo?" Sharlene interrogates her, and she knows that she is confused.

"Yeah, sis, I'm really busy with school; I'm here for educational purposes." The person in front of her was already frowning and staring at her intently as she explained this.

Tashia heard, and she just sighed. "Were you waiting for a long time?" she asked them.

"No, Tashia got here first." The man accompanying them replied.

They went inside. Someone is looking at them again. Suddenly, his ability came into play. Suddenly, the surroundings changed; she saw a joyful family, a young girl named Leah, and the events unfolded rapidly.

She gasped when she saw herself being killed in the mansion. Blood scattered in every corner of the mansion; she couldn't understand what was happening. People are talking and arguing; her breathing is getting deeper.

She caught a glimpse of a man grinning while watching what was happening.

"Tashia, Tashia." That's what she hears.

Sharlene stared at her intently. She fixed her hair back then.

"Go ahead first." Sharlene even asked her to take a seat. Suddenly, her palm went cold, and she broke out in a sticky sweat at what she saw.

Who lived here before? She wondered in her mind. Tashia no longer felt the presence watching them.

"Sit down for a while." Her companion, who was worried about her, could only say,.

She just nodded and followed what Sharlene was doing. I can't bear to look at the past here; I don't want to; I'm scared. Tashia recoils; she would rather not touch anything or see anyone. She tells herself that maybe she can't handle it mentally and that she's not ready.

"It's just that Tashia has just entered the mansion of Grandma Felicia, right, Tashia?" she asked her.

She just nodded. Is that why Sis Vivianne also doesn't want to come here? When did she move here? She just asked herself.

"I'll prepare something to eat first; you should rest for now, Tashia." That's all she heard from Sharlene.

Tashia only nodded in response to his sister now. She was left alone with Lawrence, who scanned the surroundings.

"Did you also just get in here?" she asked her companion.

He turned to look at her. He weakly nodded in response to her question.

"Yeah." He answered her tersely.

"What, w—who was the first owner of this mansion?" Tashia just asked back then.

Lawrence looked at her intently before he spoke.

"Here, Leah was born; here, she developed her thoughts."

Tashia swallowed. Tashia knew in her mind that this was yet another connection to Leah.

"W—What happened?" she asked Lawrence.

Tashia could only hear a sigh before answering her questions.

"I don't know the whole story, but Leah's parents were killed here when she suddenly disappeared." Lawrence could only say to Tashia.

"Dead?" she could only ask her companion.

Lawrence nodded. "After the incident involving Leah, armed men arrived and killed both the Martinez household staff and the true owner of this mansion." Lawrence also scanned the surroundings.

Tashia's hair stood on end; she didn't know how deep the roots of their trouble ran.

"H—How did Grandma receive this?" Sharlene inquired abruptly. Sharlene suddenly asked.

Her surprise was evident upon hearing it; she even saw that he was carrying their food today, just holding back her muscles to prevent the food on the tray from falling. Sharlene slowly placed it on the table.

Lawrence just sighed.

"Sharlene, I'm not sure how your grandmother acquired all the properties. At that time, they no longer had uncles and aunts, which is why we packed our things when we heard what happened. After we gave Leah's parents a proper burial, we left the town of Mateo because we were afraid we would be next. This is what he explained to them.

"Sharlene?" she asked, confused at that moment.

Sharlene showed her pictures of documents, which were in the name of his grandmother Felicia.

No way. She could only contemplate it in her own mind at the time.

While Sharlene was showing it, she noticed the bracelet.

"What is that, sis?" Tashia could only ask Sharlene because she's curious.

"I saw that in Grandma's cabinet." Sharlene, admit it to her.

She couldn't be mistaken that she saw that bracelet in her past that related to Geraldine.

Does Big Sister already know who she is? She couldn't help but wonder in her mind as she stared at the person in front of her.
