"FELICIA, you're already here." Felicia only heard these words because a man had called her over, and she recognized him as Manuel's father. The man was smoking, so she could clearly smell the cigarette he was puffing.
"Don't be afraid of me; rather, I just want to thank you for what you did." He even smiled at her.
She remained silent, just listening to what she was saying. "Name your prize, my dear Felicia." He even said it to her.
"As we discussed," Felicia replied tersely to the person in front of her.
"Sure, sure; I'll give you all of that. I know you're comfortable to talk to." He signed some papers.
This is the price for not proceeding to help Leah's case; moreover, if she doesn't comply, her life will also be in danger.
This is not just a father she is facing; he was once part of a secret syndicate, so when Felicia found out about it, she had to be careful, even if it meant abandoning those she had helped.
I have only one life to live; I am not interested in becoming entangled in this situation. She just said to herself.
"Dad, have you finished giving her the reward?" asked Angely.
"Yep." Felicia immediately gave the signed documents.
He handed it over, but she abruptly pulled away. "Felicia, I know you know a lot. The moment someone finds out about this, I won't just end your life but also the lives of your family." He said in a whisper, and she knew he was warning her again.
"Will you hurt your grandchild too?" She asked him defiantly. "The moment you hurt someone in my family, I won't hesitate to tell everyone the truth, even the Gonzalez family. I have the child." She says it to the man's face and stares at him intently.
The man just smirked at her. "You are a tough individual, Felicia. You are aware of my vulnerabilities, and I am aware of the secrets you are keeping. Therefore, let us collaborate to assist one another." That's the man's saying it to her.
She immediately moved away from the man. She was already carrying the papers she needed.
"Felicia." Angely called her.
She just looked at the woman who replaced Leah. "Make sure to keep your promise, and don't involve my sister in this." Angely even said it to her.
She didn't answer. In the world Felicia inhabits, when her ability becomes her job, she knows she will be in danger because of it, but she chooses to use it—this is her curse.
No, it's not a curse, but rather my karma for all the sins I've committed and the deceit I've done to my clients. Felicia just thought to herself that she was walking.
Even if she dies, she will not pass on the problem she faced, even if it makes her look bad in the eyes of others; in that way, she protects her family.
She will go to the mansion stated in the title; it's not too far away. Felicia hadn't reached her destination yet when she saw a gathering of people; she heard sirens, so she ran-walked to get to her destination quickly.
Felicia was curious about what was happening, and before her eyes lay many corpses, including the owner, who was already a cold corpse. She couldn't believe it, so she quickly checked if she had gone to the wrong address.
Idiot! Felicia could only say it in her mind.
She immediately called the number of the man she was talking to earlier. The man answered the call.
"Is this really the title you gave me?" She asked with a snarl, irritation and anger mixing in Felicia's voice.
The man could only even laugh. "You don't like it? You will be the one to own a title for the Martinez family." It even said.
"Are you stupid? Are you crazy? Are you going to let me stay here?!" She can't manage her voice that's full of sarcasm for the person she talked to on the phone.
"Why?" They're defenseless now; they're gone." He even said with a grin.
She became aware that someone was observing her, and she instantly recognized the man she had previously conversed with.
"Don't you like it? It's a little gift too. Don't worry, someone will clean up after that investigation. Rest easy, Felicia."
"Are you involved in this?" she asked as she moved away from the gathering crowd.
He laughed on the other end of the call. "Yeah, have a problem? Felicia?" he asked her.
Felicia's hand was shaking with anger now; she immediately ended the call. She continued to gaze at the corpses, the innocent civilians caught in the chaos. Suddenly, they all stood up with goosebumps on their bodies.
She felt as if the corpses she was seeing were staring at her intently. Suddenly, the eyes of the one staring at her opened wide; it was writing a name, if not her own name.
No, this is not my fault. She thought to herself, afraid of what she was seeing. She looked at the entirety of the house; it was enveloped in a heavy feeling, and she could hear cries, screams, and pleas from whoever had killed them.
She couldn't handle it, so she quickly left the crime scene, which she had never witnessed in her entire life until now, the fresh blood of it, knowing it was scattered all over the mansion.
Suddenly, Felicia's phone rang. She checked who was calling her. She answered it.
"Don't you want to stay in that mansion?" he asked her again.
He had no choice but to just agree.
"Have your mess cleaned up." Felicia simply said that and hung up immediately.
Until now, she still carries this burden.
"Glad you woke up, Felicia. Was your dream nice?" Leah asked her with a smile.
She squinted at him.
"Why are you so grumpy? I'm not even fighting with you, Felicia." She even said.
"Can you please shut your mouth, Leah, if you have nothing good to say?"
"Like when you kept your mouth shut back then about what you knew?" Leah smiled at her meaningfully.
That's why she stared at Leah. "What are you talking about?" Felicia asked her.
"Oh, do you think I wouldn't know that? Even my family wasn't allowed to leave. She whispered to her.
"Tell me, is it happy to live in a mansion stained with blood? Is it enjoyable to live in a mansion filled with corpses?" Its smile towards her was strange.
Felicia remembered that, but she couldn't move because it would also end her life.
"Oh, I can see the fear in your eyes. I've never seen that before." Leah moved away from her, who was watching her then.
"It's a pity, though, that the real mastermind behind all this hasn't really died yet. What game will we play?" Leah asked innocently to her.
"Indeed, it's really hard to kill the wild grass." Leah then looked at them. "Isn't that right, Manuel?" She could only ask them.
"Enough of your ignorance, Leah."
"Oh, am I the one being ignorant now, Angely? Don't worry, I'll follow you next, my dear." She even heard Leah laugh as if there were no tomorrow.
Leah returned to her throne and watched the three of them. "We each have karma that we brought with us when we died; let's face it and play with the karma we've created." That's all she heard from Leah.
"Oops, I guess I'm your karma here." Leah laughed endlessly and delightedly.
