Part 38: Lost Daughter
Next Morning
Arjun woke up first, leaning on Meera’s shoulder, resting her head against him. He took a few moments to admire her sleeping form. As she began to stir, she pressed her head and was startled to see their position.
“Ar...junji… we slept here?” she stammered.
Arjun nodded in response.
“But why?”
“Do you remember what you drank last night?”
Meera tried to recall the events of the previous evening, biting her nail as her mind flickered.
“Dancing juice.”
“It was nothing but red wine.”
Meera gasped. “Whatttt…!”
Arjun nodded again, suppressing a smile.
“Does that mean I drank alcohol?” she asked, anxiety creeping into her voice.
“Exactly…”
Meera clasped her hands together. “God… please forgive me. Arjunji… I have to apologise to everyone for my mistake.”
“No need.”
“But Arjunji…”
“No one knows about the trouble you caused last night.”
Meera swallowed hard. “Trouble?”
