Chapter 34- Clash of Egos

Anna trailed behind Jaden as they walked through the villa's long, dimly lit corridors. Her heels clicked softly against the marble floors, her steps slower than his brisk, determined strides. She could still feel the lingering tension from dinner, the strange moment when Jaden had wiped the chocolate from her lip. That fleeting spark between them had vanished the instant his phone rang.

Now, his back was rigid, his shoulders tense as if he were carrying the weight of the world on them. Whatever that phone call was about, it had clearly rattled him. Not that Jaden Blackwell would ever admit to being rattled.

When they reached their suite, Jaden pushed the door open and stepped aside, gesturing for her to enter first. It was a surprisingly courteous move, one that made Anna arch a brow as she walked past him.

“Thanks,” she said dryly, stepping into the room.
