Chapter 51- Cracks In The Mask

Anna returned home late that evening, the weight of Lilly’s words and Emily’s concern still heavy on her mind. The guards followed at a respectful distance as she climbed the steps to the mansion, her legs heavy with exhaustion.

As the door closed behind her, the quiet of the grand mansion felt oppressive. She sighed as she made her way to the living room, the soft glow of the chandelier casting a warm light over the space. She had hoped Jaden wouldn’t be home yet, that she could have a moment to herself.

But there he was.

Jaden sat on the leather couch, a glass of whiskey in his hand, the amber liquid catching the light. His tie was loosened, and his shirt sleeves were rolled up, revealing the sharp lines of his forearms. He looked every bit the ruthless billionaire, exuding power and control even in his relaxed state.

Anna froze for a moment, then steeled herself. She didn’t want another confrontation tonight. Not after the day she’d had.
