Chapter 18- The Confession

" Mom, I'm not ready," I said to her, she has been asking me this question since I turned twenty like I was already old.

" Well, can you see that? You said you're not ready but today you didn't say you haven't found a girl which means there's a girl, introduced her to me," My mom said, like hell, so she would scare my girl away.

" Mom please stop it, let's not talk about that now, Let's talk about you, how have you been?"

" No, no, I'm not changing the subject, as you can see I'm doing very well and would do even better when I had grandbabies coming over for vacation, so my dear son, nothing is more important than this right now, we're talking about when you're getting married," There was no escape for me, but I couldn't tell her, my mom would be breathing down my neck, but this was my mom and I never hide anything from her and she always supports me in whatever decision that makes me happy.

I have no choice but to tell her.

" Mom," I said with a sigh, I was contemplating telling her, I knew my mom, the next thing she would be doing was asking me to come to dinner with Anna, that's going to make my father suspicious and that was the last thing I wanted, that was why we decided to keep the relationship a secret in the first place.

" You have to promise to keep whatever I'm about to tell you a secret," I saw the excitement in her eyes as she made a sign like she was zipping her mouth.

" I have a girl," My mom giggled, like giggle, like a schoolgirl who was gossiping with their friends.

" Mom, behave," I said as I looked around.

" I'm happy son, when can I see her?" Just what I was saying.

" No Mom, you're going to scare her away," I said.

" Are you saying I'm scary?" Oh Lord help me.

" That's not it, it's just…" She cut me off.

" It's what son?"

" I asked her to be my girlfriend, she was scared because of my status that people would judge her, she didn't want it Mom, but we agreed to keep our relationship a secret,"

" Why would you want that?" She asked me.

" Because she's my secretary,"

" What?!"

" You see that's exactly what she didn't want, the type of reaction you just gave, we met before she started the job and I found out that I like her,"

" I'm not saying anything against you or her, I'm just surprised that's it, as long as you're happy I'm happy, I'm sorry if my reaction made you feel like I was judging you, it's just you've never shown interest in any of your secretaries, even the ones I recommended for the job," I looked at my mom with my brows scrunched in confusion.

" Don't tell me…"

" I need grandbabies, I'm desperate," She said and I couldn't help but laugh, I felt relieved knowing that at least my mom knew about Anna but didn't judge us.

I ended the lunch with my mom walking her to her car and I kissed her cheeks before opening the door for her and she got in, she waved at me before the driver drove her away.

It's time to go back to my pretty woman.

It's been two weeks since Cole and I started dating and each day there was a bouquet delivered to me from him, guess he was really jealous of the flowers Derick sent me. I was sure my house would soon overflow with flowers from him, but I didn't mind.

I knocked on his door and he told me to enter.

" You know you don't have to knock before you enter my office," I couldn't help but roll my eyes when I remembered when he had a woman on her knees doing things to him. A scowl appeared on my face, and from the look on his face, I was sure he knew what I was thinking of.

" Come on babe that was in the past, and I was just having horny thoughts about you when she walked in, I'm sorry you'll never have to see that again," He said as he stood from his chair and made his way to me while I just stood with a pout folding my arms.

" You're cute you know,"

" Leave me alone,"

" Like I can," He said standing in front of me.

" I didn't come here to talk about that, I came to remind you of your monthly golf meeting, it's in an hour," I said and before he could respond I turned away from him and walked out of his office, I heard him muttering cute.

" It's time let's go," He said as he came out of his office while I took my bag and followed him.

We entered one of the shops and changed into golfing outfits, I wore a short white skirt, a white Polo shirt, and a cap while Cole wore white pants and a white Polo shirt.

We were meeting with one of his business partners who wanted to golf.

" Mr Leonard," A man called us over as soon as he saw us.

" Mr. Phillips, nice to meet you once again," Cole said.

" Who's the beautiful lady you brought with you today?" He asked, referring to me.

" She's my gi… Secretary,.." He quickly caught himself before he made the mistake.

" She's my secretary Anna Fredrick," He said as I stretched my hand to him for a handshake, the man took my hand then rubbed his thumb on the back of my hand, the signature move men made when they see a woman they wanted something with, I drew my hand away from him before Cole saw.

" So Mr Leonard, how's everything going at the company?" He asked as they started talking about business and everything businessmen talked about.

" Anna, why don't you come golf with us?" Mr. Philips asked.

" Me?" I asked as I pointed to myself and he chuckled.

" Come over Anna," Cole called as I walked to them and he handed me the stick.

" I've never tried playing golf,"

" Why don't you let me teach you?" Mr Phillips said.

" I don't think,..." I didn't get to finish what I wanted to say when he took my hand and came to stand behind me placing his chin on my shoulder.

When I turned to Cole the look in his eyes told me I was in trouble.
