I woke up in the morning feeling like a girl who couldn't wait to meet her crush in school. I looked through my closet to find something to wear and Cole's words from yesterday came to my mind and wicked thoughts began to form in my head. He warned me to put on pants but I did the opposite, I found the shortest skirt I had for work as I wore a top and black heels.
Bella had already gone to the hospital for her morning shift. I looked at myself one last time in the mirror before I took my keys and left my room.
I locked the house door and got into my car driving off to the office.
" Good morning Mr Stanley," I greeted the security guy at the entrance as I got in. I entered the elevator inputting our office floor as I quietly waited, leaning on the wall.
I reached our floor and walked out. I got to my table and started arranging my things and then I sat down to get some things set before my boss arrives.
I heard the elevator open and I knew he was here. I stood up, putting on that smile he loves as he walked in.
" Welcome sir," I said and the first place his eyes went was the skirt I was wearing. I saw the way his tongue came out to lick his lips, he liked what he was seeing.
" Good morning," He said as his voice became deeper than usual.
" Miss Fredrick, didn't I tell you not to wear a skirt," He asked.
" I can wear whatever I want," I challenged.
" Oh, I see,"
" Yes," I whispered.
" You should go to your office, you're getting distracted, you have to work,"
" Wasn't that your intention, to have me distracted,"
" I'm innocent of your accusations," I said with my hand to my chest.
" By the time I have you beneath me begging Miss Fredrick, you wouldn't be so innocent,"
" Sir, stop, go to your office, you're supposed to be working," I said as he chuckled before walking away and my hand went to my chest trying to calm my beating heart.
I got on with work and even when I went to tell him his schedule for the day, he couldn't take his eyes off my legs, I just couldn't imagine the images in his head but I knew they were anything but holy thoughts. I had to run from his office when I saw he was about to rise from his chair.
His mom called asking why he hadn't been picking up her calls and I marched to his office and told him to call her.
When I returned to my office I was surprised to find flowers on my table. I picked up the note with a smile on my face as I opened it but as soon as I saw who the note was from my smile disappeared. The note read;
" I'm sorry my love, please forgive me, let's work things out,"
Love Derick.
Just then Cole walked out of his office and saw the flowers and the look on his face looked deadly like he didn't mind finding the person who sent the flowers and making him disappear from the face of this earth.
He walked to me and took the note.
" I thought it was from you," I said.
He looked through the note before squeezing it and then he took the flowers, opened the trash can, and threw it in.
" That guy is getting on my nerves," He said.
" The next time he sends you flowers, they will be the same flowers on his grave,"
" Cole,"
" I don't like him," He said with a sigh,
" He has nothing against you,"
" Of course he doesn't,"
" Calm down okay," I said, trying to calm him down.
" Kiss me, I'll calm down,"
" You know I want to but I can't we're in the office,"
" This is so annoying," He groaned.
" Sorry," I mumbled.
" You have nothing to say sorry for, I have lunch with my mom, and she's already waiting for me at the restaurant not too far from us, I have to get going before she comes up here and drags me by the ear, you wouldn't be able to save your boyfriend from her wrath," He said and I chuckled.
" Be right back," He was about to kiss me but I warned him with my eyes before he pushed back.
" Okay, okay, don't miss me too much," He said before he left.
*********
What type of boyfriend was I? I asked her to be my girlfriend last night and she accepted but instead of being the one giving her flowers, that stupid ex-boyfriend of hers had to beat me to it.
I had to level up, I know her attention was on me but I didn't like another man giving her gifts, I could buy her a flower farm if I wanted to.
I parked my car outside the restaurant and walked in looking for where my mom was when I spotted her at a table.
I smiled as I made my way to her, girls eyed me but I chuckled, I'm taken, girls. Taken by a gorgeous irresistible woman.
" My handsome boy," My mom said as she got up to hug me. When would she stop calling me a boy? To her, I'll always be her boy. If she knew what this boy of hers did behind closed doors she wouldn't call me a boy.
" I missed you, Mom," I said as I hugged her back, my mom was very young you'd think she was just my older sister.
" You're the one that has refused to come visit me," She said as I removed the chair for her to sit down before I also sat down.
" How's work? Hope things aren't too stressful?" She asked with that motherly concern shining in her eyes.
" I can't lie to you mom, you know things can't all be a bed of roses, it gets really hectic but you've got a strong son," And he has to see his beautiful woman every day he comes to the office so coming to the office has become one of his favorite things.
" Why do you have that look in your eyes son?" My mom suddenly asked. I didn't realize I had a smile on my face as I thought of Anna. I stopped my smile but my mom had already seen it.
" Who is she?" She asked and I could already see wedding bells ringing in her eyes, I didn't mind the thought.
What the fuck? Dude, slow down.
" I don't know what you're talking about,"
" I'm your mom and I know you very well," Here we go again, I had to look for a way to change the topic but right now nothing was coming to my mind.
" You have it all…" She cut me off.
" When are you getting married?"
