Volume 3: The Tower of Blood
Chapter 10: The Battle Royale Begins
As Lee Hwan stepped through the portal, a strange pressure immediately wrapped around him. He found himself in a vast, dark forest surrounded by towering stone walls. The sky above was blood-red, and an eerie silence blanketed the area. A system alert rang in his mind:
[Welcome to the 7th Floor – Blood Forest Arena]
[Current Participants: 100]
[Floor Task: Survive and eliminate all others.]
[Only one player can advance to the 8th Floor.]
[Warning: All alliances are temporary. Trust no one.]
Lee Hwan narrowed his eyes. "So this is the death match floor."
Around him, dozens of other players had already spawned in different corners of the forest. Most were unknown to him, but many were powerful—levels ranging from 80 to even 120.
Lee calmly checked his gear, his aura pulsing steadily. His dragons were ready inside his soul domain. But he knew, summoning them too early would draw too much attention.
He moved quickly, climbing up a tree to survey the surroundings using Dragon Eye. Instantly, he spotted movement—three players ambushing another. A swift slash. A scream. One down. Ninety-eight to go.
Lee smirked. "Let the hunt begin."
Suddenly, a huge tremor shook the forest.
[Disruption Detected!]
A monstrous creature burst from the center of the forest—a corrupted beast known as the Blood Devourer, a fusion of ten past fallen players.
[New Objective: Kill the Blood Devourer.]
[Bonus Reward: Instant floor clearance. All players will be removed except the one who lands the final blow.]
Lee's smirk grew. "So I don't even need to kill everyone. I just need to kill that beast."
The Blood Devourer let out a bloodcurdling roar, tearing through the forest, and chaos erupted as players shifted focus toward it—betrayals, sneak attacks, alliances shattered in seconds.
But while everyone fought to reach the monster first, Lee calmly activated his Dragon Aura, cloaking his sword. He vanished using Shadow Step, reappearing behind a distracted squad, cutting them down in a flash.
"One hundred may have entered..."
His eyes locked onto the Blood Devourer, standing tall and grotesque, a mountain of cursed flesh.
"But only one king will walk away."
