Hearing the commotion from the adjacent room, Anthony's frown deepened. He hadn't expected anyone else to be nearby. If someone launched a surprise attack now, it could prove disastrous for his mission.

To be safe, Anthony reached for another Poke Ball. This one contained a Pokemon he had secretly trained specifically to counter Grass-types that threatened his Water-type ace.

"Go, Incineroar!"

The fierce Fire-type Pokemon materialized with a thunderous roar that echoed through the chamber.

"ROAR!"

Incineroar's intimidating presence filled the room as it locked eyes with Roserade. This particular Incineroar possessed the Intimidate ability, using its fierce aura to strike fear into opponents and reduce their attack power.

"Incineroar, handle Roserade," Anthony commanded, then turned his attention to Blastoise.

"Blastoise, Focus Blast!"

Anthony pointed toward the source of the disturbance, directing his ace Pokemon to use the Fighting-type move. Fighting energy rapidly gathered at the tips of Blastoise's cannons. When the energy reached maximum concentration, a tremendous explosion echoed through the facility.

BOOM!

The sphere of concentrated Fighting energy launched like a cannonball, and Blastoise's massive frame shook from the tremendous recoil. The sheer power of this Focus Blast was clearly devastating.

CRASH!

Walls crumbled instantly wherever the Focus Blast passed, unable to slow its destructive path as it hurtled toward Jacob's hiding place.

A shimmering barrier of light appeared as Alakazam stepped protectively in front of Jacob, deflecting the King level Blastoise's full-power attack.

"An King-level Alakazam ?" Anthony's eyes narrowed as he spotted the Psychic-type Pokemon. As expected, there was indeed an Elite-level trainer hidden here.

Fortunately, his caution had paid off. If he had been caught off-guard at a critical moment, the consequences would have been severe.

As the light barrier shattered, Anthony caught sight of Jacob behind Alakazam, along with the Pokemon egg cradled in his arms. Something about the young man's face struck him as familiar, and then recognition flashed in his eyes.

"Jacob?"

He never expected to encounter Jacob here. Seeing the egg in the boy's hands, Anthony immediately understood the situation. No wonder there had been only one Pseudo-legendary egg in the incubator - this kid had beaten him to it!

Rage boiled within Anthony. He was a top-tier trainer, yet he had nearly fallen for a child's trick. However, this revelation also presented an opportunity. If he could capture Jacob and claim the Pseudo-legendary egg, it would be a tremendous achievement. The Aurora Society had particular interest in Jacob, valuing his scientific research talents. Bringing him back alive would certainly elevate Anthony's standing within the organization.

Jacob studied the blonde, blue-eyed Anthony with confusion. A foreigner? His gaze shifted to the injured Roserade, then to Blastoise and Incineroar, trying to piece together the situation.

Had Roserade been fighting both of Anthony's Pokemon? Where was Roserade's trainer?

While Jacob pondered the circumstances, Anthony wasted no time.

"Blastoise, Hydro Cannon!"

Blastoise's cannons swiveled toward Alakazam. After using Shell Smash, Blastoise's offensive capabilities had reached terrifying levels. Combined with same-type attack bonus, even without type advantage, this attack would be enough to severely damage Gallade.

"Alakazam, get in close and take the hit," Jacob called out.

Through his time working with Alakazam, Jacob had become familiar with its moveset and had already formulated a stalling tactic. While he couldn't defeat Blastoise outright, he could buy precious time.

What Jacob didn't expect was for Alakazam to completely ignore his command. Instead, the Pokemon used Agility to dart around Blastoise, attempting to avoid the Hydro Cannon through rapid movement.

This left Jacob speechless. Normally, Alakazam was perfectly obedient, but at this crucial moment, it had chosen not to trust Jacob's judgment and follow its own instincts instead. Jacob sighed internally - this was the difference between using your own Pokemon versus a borrowed one.

Jacob's original strategy had been to have Alakazam tank the attack head-on. While the Hydro Cannon would deal severe damage, once Alakazam got close, it could reverse the situation using Pain Split. This move calculated the total HP of both Pokemon and divided it equally between them.

For example, if Blastoise had 150 HP while Alakazam had 100 HP, and after taking a Hydro Cannon Gallade was reduced to 30 HP, their combined total would be 180 HP. Pain Split would give each Pokemon 90 HP, effectively making Blastoise take 60 damage while Gallade only lost 10.

In essence, Pain Split was an excellent move for weaker Pokemon to use against stronger opponents, capable of dealing unexpected heavy damage. However, it had one major limitation - you had to be able to make contact with the opponent. That's why Jacob had wanted Alakazam to charge in close.

But Alakazam had completely disobeyed orders, disrupting Jacob's plan. The Pokemon moved at high speed with Grass energy forming around its arm blades, clearly intending to use Leaf Blade.

"Blastoise, predict its route and use continuous Hydro Cannons," Anthony commanded.

As Anthony's signature Pokemon, he knew Blastoise's attack patterns intimately. While the cannons packed tremendous power, accuracy was equally important. His extensive battle experience had taught him how to handle high-speed opponents.

Blastoise adjusted the angle of its twin cannons. Four successive thunderous blasts rang out - BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The first Hydro Cannon predicted Alakazam's movement path, interrupting its Agility. The second, third, and fourth shots followed in rapid succession, cutting off escape routes in every direction.

"Maximum power Hydro Cannon!" With Alakazam's movement completely locked down, Anthony gave the final command.

BOOM!

The last, most powerful Hydro Cannon struck Alakazam like a raging torrent, instantly dealing critical damage to the Blade Pokemon.

Jacob sighed inwardly. Alakazam's failure at the crucial moment had put them at a severe disadvantage, but there was no point in dwelling on blame now.

Making mistakes wasn't terrible - what was terrible was immediately making excuses and avoiding responsibility afterward. Truly intelligent people focused on solving the problem at hand! Now that things had reached this point, further discussion was useless. The question wasn't why the mistake happened, but what to do next.

"Alakazam , Pain Split!"

Even though they were separated by distance, it was worth attempting.

At that moment, the injured Roserade launched its own attack. Raising the flower on its left hand, it abandoned any pretense of honor and directly targeted Blastoise, Grass-type energy surging around it.

"Leaf Storm!"

Faced with Roserade's full-power Leaf Storm, Anthony didn't dare let Blastoise take the hit directly. He immediately positioned Incineroar as a shield.

"Incineroar, use Protect!"

"ROAR!"

Incineroar activated the defensive technique, blocking the Leaf Storm for Blastoise while Pain Split took effect.

Protect was indeed a universal move. As expected, when there were no limitations on move slots, Protect was essential for any serious trainer.

"Incineroar, Flare Blitz! Finish off Roserade!"

"ROAR!"

Incineroar's body became wreathed in flames as it charged forward like a burning meteor. Roserade, with its right flower still frozen, was unable to mount any defense and was sent flying, sustaining critical injuries.

With both the severely wounded Alakazam and Roserade facing off against a King level Blastoise and King level Incineroar, Jacob's chances of victory looked impossibly slim.
