After breakfast, Boruto received a call from a tip-off who said he knew about Boruto's whereabouts.
Me: I know him.
All three turned to look at me.
Although I hated to admit it, he had a point. Behind my celebrity exterior lies a woman who is haunted by a bad past:
The man isn't worried about you. He's looking for me... he is the same man who killed my brother.
Boruto: That's not good. What do you have in mind?
Me: Let me go talk to him.
Boruto: That's risky on its own. What if-
Me: I know. (looking at Boruto) I know. But I need to confront him and know what he wants.
Chocho: And what are you thinking?
Me: He wants to get rid of me in order to take over the Uchiha empire once my parents die.
Chocho: That's brutal.
Me: I know. If not for the empire, he just wants to get to me through Boruto.
Chocho: How?
Me: (smirks) You got married into the mafia and you still don't know?
Chocho: Haha, I was born into it like you, okay?
Me: (shaking my head) In this world, people know your every move. But it's up to us to think ahead of the others.
Mistuki: Spoke like a true mafia princess and wife.
Me: (laughing) Not helping, Mitsuki.
Boruto turned to look at me, ruffling his hair in pure frustration.
Boruto: Okay. I will let you go alone. But if anything happens, let me know.
Me: I will.
Just before I could get up, Mitsuki had us stay put.
Mitsuki: It's not looking good.
Boruto: What's going on?
Mitsuki: That meeting you had with Russia will have to be canceled.
Boruto: Why?
Mitsuki: I went to my sources and I have been reported that in two days, there will be another explosion in Novosibirsk, Russia.
Boruto took the device Mitsuki handed to him and checked through the information Mitsuki just said. I peeked through to take a look and I saw coordinates of the explosives. I briefly looked at Boruto, then at the device.
Me: That isn't good.
Boruto: True. (to Mitsuki) So what do you suggest?
Me: Return back to Konoha before they all get suspicious. I will get them to accept change of location.
Boruto: Okay.
With that, I excused myself and went to get ready to meet Momoshiki.

LUPARISA RESTAURANT
TIME: 8:00 PM
Me: What do you want, Momoshiki?
Momoshiki: Is that how you speak to your... brother's assassin?
I closed my eyes, controlling my emotions.
Me: How can I help you?
Momoshiki: Have you ever wondered why I let you off the hook so many times?
Me: No.
Momoshiki: How about if I told you I wanted to finish you off right now?
I felt my blood run cold.
Momoshiki: Like the way I did with your brother, Sachi?
I felt his men surround me all around, making sure I wasn't going to escape.
Momoshiki: Hmm, Sarada?
Me: Go ahead. (glaring at him) Try me.
***
Boruto: She has been gone for hours now.
Mitsuki: Don't worry. She's fine.
Boruto: No, I can't worry.
Mitsuki: The husband, you are Boruto.
Boruto: I'm serious,s Mitsuki. Sarada's been ambushed by Momoshiki.
Mitsuki: How do you know?
Boruto: I have seen and dealt with a lot of scenarios like this in my life. I know how the story goes every time.
Mitsuki: But-
Boruto and Mitsuki exchanged looks. Without saying another word, Mistuki let Boruto go, unable to counterargue his statement.

I stared at my own hands, then at the men who were now unconscious. I moved backwards, replaying what I just did. I shook my head, refusing to believe what I did, what I committed.
Me: I'm... I just...
Just then, I heard someone call out my name.
Boruto: Sarada!
I turned around. He looked around, then at me.
Boruto: Sarada...
Me: I... I...
Words were unable to come out of my mouth. Boruto rushed to my side but I moved backwards.
Me: Boruto, you can't come close.
Boruto: Yes, I can.
I shook my head continuously. I looked at my hands once more, filled with red liquid.
Boruto: Sarada, hey-
Me: (shaky voice) Boruto... I... I just-
Boruto: Shhh.
He pulled me into a hug, trying to comfort me. I still tried to make sense of what I did. I let my emotions get the best of me. I let my anger to all the action.
Boruto: Let's go wash your hands.
I let Boruto lead me to the bathroom, where he opened the bottle of soap and added nearly half of it into my hands. He rubbed my hands, guiding me on how to do it. After some few seconds, he then opened the tap and let it wash away. My hands, once red, and bloody, now clean and pure again - just like they were before everything.
Boruto: It's not your fault, okay?
I shook my head.
Me: It is. I-
Boruto took my hands from behind and interwined them with his.
Boruto: Salad, breathe.
Me: I can't. I... can't.
Boruto: Yes, you can. I believe in you.
Boruto then helped me regain myself.
Boruto: In... and out.
After some time doing the breathing technique, he led me outside, carrying me in bridal style and holding my purse as well. As soon as we got into the car, my tears streamed like a river.
Me: (crying) Boruto, I killed them.
Boruto, however, gave me look of sympathy and he rubbed my back in small circles. Never have I appreciated his touch like this ever.
Me: I didn't mean to...
Boruto: I know - and stop blaming yourself-
Me: But I killed them, Boruto!
Boruto wiped a tear from my cheek, pushing strands of my hair to my ear as he caressed my cheek.
Me: (crying) I killed Momoshiki.
Boruto: I know it wasn't intentional, love.
Me: But-
Boruto: No buts. Please.
We then fell into comfortable silence in the car. Droplets of rain could be heard.
Boruto: Let's get home before it rains, okay?
Me: ... Okay.
I sat on his lap, my hands gripping his shirt. He started the car and made sure I was comfortable before driving off. I closed my eyes as I immersed myself in his warmth.

We got home and Boruto carried me all the way to the bed. I was silent the way home and I didn't want to utter a word. I just wanted to be quiet.
Boruto: Are you hungry?
I shook my head.
He nodded and went out briefly, coming back with a vanilla bean and honey cake. I looked at him.
Me: How did you know?
Boruto: Can't forget about you, princess.
Me: (smiling) Thanks, love.
Boruto was taken aback but sat next to me, pulling my head to his shoulder.
Boruto: Anytime, cara.
I cut out a slice and dug in, the vanilla scent immediately putting me at ease. Cake was my comfort food, but being in the entertainment industry... I even forgot how this cake tasted like.
Me: I missed it.
Boruto: I know. That's why I got it.
Then my heart sank again, thinking about my horrendous act. I put the plate down and stood up, walking to the window. Boruto, in swift motion, hugged me from behind, resting his head on my shoulder.
Boruto: Cara.
Me: I... I am a murd-
Boruto: No you are not.
He gently turned me around and cupped my face.
Boruto: You are Sarada Uzumaki, wife of Boruto Uzumaki - the scariest man you have ever seen alive. If anyone messes with his wife, he messes with him.
He, once again, wiped a tear from my eye.
Boruto: Do you believe that?
Me: (looking at him intently) I do, Boruto... I do.
Boruto: (smiling gently) Good. Never forget that.
With that, he pulled me into a hug and I sank in it, all my feelings vanishing away even though it's for a moment.

Mitsuki: How's Sarada?
Boruto: She's shaken, but she's asleep, thankfully.
Mitsuki: I have done research on Momoshik, and it's not good.
Boruto: Give it to me.
Mistuki: His son, Omoshiki, wanted to forcefully take Sarada's hand in marriage a few months back.
Boruto: That's where the anger comes from. (to Mitsuki) This is also why Momoshiki had Sarada's brother killed, right?
Mitsuki: Correct.
Sarada didn't mention Omoshiki being present at her meeting with Momoshiki, so I guess he's still incognito.
Mitsuki: True, but I found his coordinates.
Boruto: (surprised) Really?
Mitsuki: Yes. (handing him the device) He's in North Korea.
Boruto: (nodding) Great. Then, we set that as our next destination.
Mitsuki: ...
Boruto: North Korea.
Mitsuki: On it.
Boruto: (muttering) Just what are you up to, Omoshiki?
