Chapter 5

NORTH KOREA

OMOSHIKI ESTATE

Omoshiki: What brings you here, Uzumaki? Or should I say Don?

Boruto: What game are you up to?

Omoshiki: With whom?

Boruto: You tell me. You asked for Sarada's hand in marriage, tried forcing your way into asking her, and all of a sudden run here? To North Korea?

Omoshiki: (sighs)

Boruto: (smirks) Be civil about this, Omoshiki!

Omoshiki: How about we speak about a recent event - my father, Momoshiki? (looking at Boruto) I know your wife did it.

Boruto: Proof?

Omoshiki: I have none.

Boruto: Then-

Omoshiki: But I know she was the last person he was with before everything happened.

Boruto: Look, Omoshiki, I am not here to speak about your father. I am here to speak about you.

Omoshiki: Let me guess, your little wife told you about me.

Boruto: My wife knows when to keep her business private.

Omoshiki was taken aback.

Boruto: (smirks) But I am the nosy husband who likes keeping tabs on her safety. Now spill it.

Omoshiki: About what?

Boruto: I know you killed Sachi in hopes of getting Sarada. Or is it in hopes of seeking the Don title after Sarada's parents die?

Omoshiki: Proof?

Boruto: Tons. (handing over the documents) I have tons of extras, so don't bother burning them.

Omoshiki: You sure about it?

Boruto: Try me.

***

I walked around the house, my stress levels up and rising per minute.

Me: I feel it. Boruto isn't safe right now.

Chocho: Come on! He's mafia Don! He's untouchable, unstoppable.

I sat down and tapped my foot. I looked around and caught sight of the car keys. I stood up, picked up a random one, and headed out.

Chocho: Sarada! Where are you going?

Me: I am going to get Boruto.

With a sigh, I heard Chocho grab her keys and followed. Heading to the parking lot, I got inside, and it immediately gave me Boruto's live location.

Me: (shocked) Omoshiki's Estate?

Chocho: Girl, you sound shocked.

Me: Yeah, he makes me recall bad memories. But it's okay. Let's go.

FLASHBACK

9 YEARS EARLIER

Sarada: Bye, Dad! See you later!Sasuke: See you later, Sarada.

***

Sasuke: Sarada... we have some news to tell you.

Sarada: What's going o,n dad?

Sasuke: Your brother, Sachi... he was killed.

Sarada: As in... dead?

Sakura: I am so sorry, sweetie.

***

A WEEK AFTER SACHI'S DEATH

Eria: Hey, Sarada!

Sarada: ...

Eria: I am glad you could make it... although you just buried your brother!

Sarada : Hi Eria. Too bad I had to come, for I have much better things to do other than watch girls stretch randomly. (walking away)

END OF FLASHBACK

Chocho: Sarada!

Me: Sorry, what?

Chocho: You good?

Me: Yeah-

Chocho: Sarada, stop lying.

Me: I was thinking of Sachi.

Chocho: Sorry. You know, you don't have to go-

Me: Boruto is there. I have to.

I started the car, fixed the rearview mirror , and steadied my hands on the steering wheel, taking in the feel of the SUV.

Me: I chose this life and its dangers.

Chocho: Mrs. Uzumaki!

Me: Shush, Cho! Anyway, let's go.

I drove off with Cho behind me. Driving into the snowy-filled road. I kept my mind on Boruto. Omoshiki can be brutal when corrected, and while I knew he was strong - I mean, he is a mafia Don - I... wouldn't stand seeing Boruto hurt.

I looked at the location and then ahead. We were heading to the mountains. I switched on the snow-grip feature, which enabled the car to move smoothly on ice/snow. I drove up and saw a big gate with the name, 'OE' on the gate. I waited patiently for anything - if the gate opens up, I would drive in.

***

Boruto and Mitsuki were sliding over the tiles, heading for the exit door. Boruto managed to find the button for the gate and pressed it. Little to his surprise, he finds out that his wife, yes, Sarada, is on the other side of the gate, ready to drive in.

***

Chocho: Sarada, the gate is opening!

I looked up and saw what Cho saw - the gate was opening. I immediately went straight to the accelerator and sped up.

Chocho: Sarada!

I drove in like no one cared. I made a sharp swerve, Boruto and Mitsuki stumbling back slightly. I opened the window.

Boruto: Sarada?

Me: Boruto! Mitsuki! Get in quick!

They didn't hesitate - Boruto next to me in the passenger seat and Mitsuki in the backseat. I drove out of the estate like a crazy driver, speeding so as not to get the gate closed. I quickly phoned Chocho to make the drive back so as to not have them track us. I stopped when Mitsuki jumped off to Cho's car, and Boruto and I sped off.

Boruto: (shocked) How did you know where I was?

Me: Your location is in all your cars, no?

Boruto: True, but still. How?

Me: I don't know... perhaps it's instinct. I mean I am an Uzumaki, no?

Boruto: (smirks) True.

I made a sharp curve as we joined the main road again. I did not try to slow down until we got to the entrance of our estate. I went to the underground parking lot, where I killed the car's engine.

Me: (sighs) That was...

Boruto: Impressive.

I looked at him.

Me: (shaking my head) Anything to you is impressive, Boruto.

Boruto: Correction - anything you do is impressive.

I chuckled.

Me: Just why did I marry you?

Boruto: Because you love me?

Me: Lucky you.

I got out of the car. Boruto followed, and we went inside the house. Boruto went over to the couch while I sat next to him. Cho and Mitsuki were not yet back, so we sat in silence.

Me: You were not hurt, right?

Boruto: No, thanks to you.

Me: That's good.

Boruto: Thanks for coming.

Me: I was doing what...

Boruto: Sarada would do anything to save her husband.

Me: Exactly.

I shifted, and before Boruto could register anything, I hugged him.

Me: I'm glad you are okay. Just don't do it again.

Boruto pulled me closer to him, burying his face into my hair.

Boruto: I'm sorry - and I promise never to do that. But only if your safety isn't compromised.

Me: Thanks.

Boruto wanted to say something but withheld it.

Me: You always do that.

Boruto: Do what?

Me: Stop yourself from speaking. If there's something you want to tell me, say it, okay?

Boruto didn't beatabout the bush after my words.

Boruto: I just wanted to say I love you.

Before I could reply, Mitsuki and Chocho returned.

Cho: We decided to stop by the convenience store a few blocks away.

Boruto and Sarada: Brave of you both.

Mitsuki: Sorry, Uzumaki family, but we are not as uptight as you guys.

Boruto: Really, Mitsuki?

Me: Ouch. Thank you so much for your brutal honesty.

We laughed as they set out the meals in front of us. I took the noodles and immediately dug in.

Me: I missed this.

Boruto: Happy for you.

We laughed and chatted about simple things - not something I expected to ever do in this life, but I was grateful for the moment. After what seemed like 2 hours of speaking nonsense, we cleaned up and got ready for bed. We bid each other goodnight and headed to our bedrooms. I yawned as soon as we walked into ours.

Me: What an evening.

Boruto: True.

Me: I am going to bed as soon as I am done changing.

With that, I went to the room to change into my nightgown. After some minutes, I flopped on the bed. Boruto soon followed.

Boruto: Good night, princess.

Me: (sleepy) Good night... B.

I turned to face him, trying to keep my eyes open.

Me: (sleepy) About earlier.

Boruto: Yeah?

Me: I... I love yo,u too.

I heard Boruto chuckle before I fell into a deep sleep.

***

I woke up feeling empty. I woke up and looked around. The sun was nowhere in sight and I pulled my gown as I stepped out into the kitchen. I was about to make myself (and Boruto) a cup of coffee when Chocho called my name.

Chocho: Sarada. Good morning.

Me: Morning, Cho.

Chocho: Wondering where your husband is?

Me: Yes, I did. How did you know?

Chocho: I just know. Want to know where he is?

Me: Second thought. I don't know. It's pretty peaceful when he's away.

Chocho: Haha. Go on fooling yourself.

Me: (sighs) Okay. I am being real now. Have you seen him?

Chocho: He is in the swimming pool.

Me: (confused) How? It's snow-

Chocho: Huh?

Me: Don't worry. I know. Those are the perks of having money.

Chocho: You are full of yourself today, huh, Sarada?

Me: Maybe.

Chocho and I laughed.

Chocho: I was about to go there, so go together?

Me: Um, yeah.

We went together to the indoor swimming poo,l where Mitsuki and Boruto were having thein type of game.

Boruto: I am still the best.

Mitsuki: You are an Uzumaki after all.

They didn't notice us walking in and we sat down on one of the benches close to the pools. I looked at Boruto, who, despite the 9 years we have been apart, he still has that big grin of his that annoyed me, yet attracted me to him.

Chocho: Someone is thinking about a little lover...

Me: No, but there is something else different about Boruto.

Chocho: You have completely lost me.

Me: Why does he look... more built? I mean, they would have gotten any girl. Yet they chose us. Though I must say, they both look like famous swimmers.

Chocho: Girl. Our husbands are different in that aspect, for sure, and they make us feel special. Famous person. As in famous swimmers? That's if there's a spin-off story of our lives.

Me: Yeah.

Chocho: This reminds me of a famous swimmer...

Me: I have a fuzzy memory of such things. Who is it?

Chocho: I don't remember, but if our lives had to changed, Mitsuki would be participating in top swimming competitions, along with Boruto.

Me: And Boruto would be getting all the medals.

Chocho: Listen to yourself! Anyway, then there comes us, watching their shows and hoping they notice us.

Me: (laughing) You are funny, Chocho.

Chocho: Come on Sarada?

Unable to resist the little alternate story she was already telling me, I stuck around for the whole story.

Me: Okay, Chocho, what story can you tell us?

Chocho: An interesting one to tell. We are married to the mafia and practically hiding in the shadows. We just never leave in one permanent place.

Me: That makes more sense, I mean a mafia Don... he would have practically grown up to the whole thing like second nature.

Chocho: True, but Sarada! He is not just a 'mafia.' He is a mafia boss. He is a mafia Don.

Me: Got more info? Out with it then.

Chocho: As for you Sarada, Boruto is dangerous, yet handsome, he is protective, travels light like yourself and he would burn the world for you - anything to keep his girl safe.

Me: Chocho! Besides, he is well known back in Konoha. But each person is different, Cho. Don't compare.

Chocho: OK. But you need to see him for what he's worth.

Me: (confused For what he's worth? I don't think I am following...

Chocho: Go on, continue to play dumb, Sarada...

Cho was skeptical of me, but I brushed it off.

Chocho: Unless... there is something you are hiding from me? Your best friend?

Me: I am not secretive. HE is the one who knows EVERYTHING. So talk about keeping tabs.

We laughed and had a little chat before deciding to leave. Though our husbands did not see us leave, getting to see them having fun and doing what they always loved felt nice today. We went out and headed to the living room, where we had a knock on the door. Chocho and I exchanged looks.

Me: What is going on?"

Chocho: I have no idea.

I walked to check the door hole. I saw Shikadai and Yodo together. I opened the door.

Me: Shika? Yodo?

Chocho: (shocked) Shikadai?!

We moved aside to let them in.

Shikadai: Where are Boruto and Mitsuki?

Me: In the private swimming pool.

Shikadai: Such a drag.

Me: It is such a drag having you here.

Shikadai: Sorry to disturb your peace, but we need them here.

***

Boruto: Okay, what's going on, Shika?

With a sigh, Shikadai explained.

Shikadai: Isshiki is striking back. He is attacking all the other empires. We need to be at it fast, or else the consequences will take us months to recover. He has just attacked Momoshiki's empire.

Boruto: How long until they strike?

Shikadai: They are only a few months before they attack mine. Then, the ultimate showdown.

Me: What showdown?

Shikadai: Isshiki is planning on attacking both the Uzumaki and Uchiha empire at once.

We widened our eyes in shock.

Me: As in...

Boruto: Double attack?

Shikadai: Exactly.

Me: That's massive...

Shikdai: It seems like he has been planning this for years now... You should get out of North Korea as soon as possible.

Me: How? People who get in are not allowed to go out.

Boruto: About that, don't worry. Leave that to me.

Me: So, what's the next move?

Boruto: I have a meeting to rearrange with the Russian empire by tomorrow. Luckily, Mitsuki is on that.

Me: Boruto, I don't mean to ask for this, but I think it's time you ask him.

Boruto became tense.

Boruto: Ask who?

Me: Kawaki. Your brother.
