Chapter 36- Missing

Letisha’s POV

I released a tired sigh when I pushed the door open and saw that no one was on the balcony. I had finally managed to extricate myself from Director Chow’s drunken ramblings. Only to be stopped by two other people who insisted on pawning off their business cards. The room where the party was held was like a 20th-century ballroom. I spotted balconies along three sides of the room, and the first one I went to had been occupied. There was more than enough space, but I wasn’t in the mood to interact with anyone, so I tried the next one.

This had been fun, but I was ready to go home.

I had initially wanted to search for Adrian, but I wasn’t sure he was done talking with his ex-boss. I wondered what he’d wanted to talk about in private…

“Don’t be clingy, Leti,” I groaned aloud as I sat on the stone bench on one side of the balcony.

I got my phone out to text Adrian to let him know where I was, but I quickly realized it was dead.

“Dammit!”
